The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

Feeling a bit better after the two goalkeeper signings. Joe Lewis was highly rated at one stage so would imagine there's something there quality wise. However, if he turns out not so great, Neil Alexander is a very able goalkeeper who is pretty reliable. One of the few goalkeepers who looks generally pretty steady at this level, with Livingston, the Old Rangers and Hearts. Will also have a pretty good influence on young Robbie Mutch. A man who has played in England, a Europa League final and has Scotland caps.

Not overly sure on Callum Morris but there we go. Hopefully turns out to be better than Quinn positionally.

The centre of midfield still needs addressing, and addressing with a man of bigger stature.

If we are to loan Rogers and Smith out, would prefer they both found lower end Premiership gigs, so that they can be challenged at the right level. If they are to go to the Championship, then Dundee United, Hibernian or Falkirk would all be good options.

When was the last time a Dons player scored at the Euros or a World Cup? I can't remember it happening whilst I've been old enough to watch football.

I'm pretty certain McGinn is the first. Strachan and Archibald both scored at World Cups but after leaving the Dons.

For those fans that rely on public transport, Motherwell and Edinburgh on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay is a bit of a nightmare.

Playing Hamilton all 3 times midweek is a bit strange, and our 3 away midweeks being in Lanarkshire and Glasgow isn't great at all.

Bar that, meh. Hearts on Hogmanay will be a messy, messy affair!

Very tough start and we need a stronger presence in midfield given we play Saints, Hearts and ICT in the opening few games, as well as Brendan's Barras Brazil 1970.

A hard game awaits the Dons in Perth, you at least should bring 4K to this one, the last time in Perth your support was poor which isn't like the Dons.

saints fans have no right to judge clubs on their travelling support  we all know if a team is going well then the travelling support is always more. Tough start for both teams , all depends how dons do in the Europa league etc , but could this be moved to a Sunday ?

It was a poor support but that can be put down to the fact we had utterly fucked any chance of catching Celtic by losing at Fir Park and Tynecastle.

Little incentive for fans to go to away games, particularly televised ones, once there's not much to play for, given we were already in Europe.

Sod's law I'm working and will miss this, first home game for me will be Celtic.

We had nothing to play for and the game was live on TV on a Friday then I think 1431 is a good attendance

Anyone know much about Michael Rose?

Well regarded in the youth team, hung out to dry when he made his one and only start.

Comes from a good family of Dons supporters, hope he does well wherever he goes.
