I do love the guy though. I suspect that "love" won't be the lasting kind.

highland_mechanic
So the defender we are set to sign doesn't seem to be Dunne but someone else.....

DunbartonshireRed
The actual signing of Scales wouldn't be an issue for me if it was permanent. But on loan? No danger. They've bent us over once too many times for me. Still fucked off over the Christie saga. If he came in on loan and became a mainstay then 1- he can't play in probably our most difficult fixtures of the season and 2- all we've then done is develop him for Celtic so he gets into their team or they sell him on and make momey from him. Permanent or not at all tipex teeth.

Loans should only be used, especially from teams in the same division, if the player involved addresses a weakness and is better than anyone you can sign. Scales is that for you lot IMO.

Jute
Should not be brining in any player on loan (emergencies excluding) unless there is an option to buy. A straight loan to develop a player for another team especially either of the arse cheeks should be left to diddies like St Johnstone.

Pipe down you arsehole *shrugs* He's a top CB for this league and shouldve moved to the Championship down south instead of Celtic last Summer. You can always spend 6 figures on Charles Dunne instead, and spend the rest of the season patting yourselves on the back for standing up to the OF and not loaning a player off them.
logie skid boys
I don’t care if it was Maldini at his peak we were getting fae the cheeks , nae acceptable for us to accept any loans fae them . Are you as thick as you make out? Consensus is we’d be happy with a permanent signing, or at worst, a loan with a view to buy. Hope that is in simple enough terms. EvEN fOR YOo. PS - stop re-writing history you clown, the Old Firm doesn’t exist.

PS - stop re-writing history you clown, the Old Firm doesn’t exist. The only clowns here are the folk who can't see the benefit of loan deals. You're attempting to rebuild your entire team in one window. You simply won't be signing 7/8/9 players of top half quality permanently in one go, so loan deals help bridge that gap as they're easier to do. That gives you time to go into January/next Summer fully prepared. As it is, it's being reported you're getting Scales permanently either now or next Summer.
Carl Cort's Hamstring
I'd have had a big problem with this 4 years ago when we were aspiring to finish in the top 2. As it is, we're shit and need to start making up ground on Hearts and get back into Europe. If he's better than what we have, get him in on whatever basis.
