Cut open far too easily on Saturday.

That and ensuring that when a full blown chance arises, at the very least make the keeper make a save. Apart from Ferguson and McCrorie’s shots in the last couple of matches, our shooting has lacked confidence and belief from everyone else. You would think that that could be addressed by extra work in training, but maybe that’s too simplistic. On Saturday the passing in general, and continually getting caught in possession, was so frustrating to watch, and that is down to lack of confidence which I presume can only be got back by getting a lead in a match, which we haven’t had since Motherwell at home. No idea what starting eleven will take the pitch on Saturday, but it won’t be the same as last Saturday, even allowing for Greg Leigh definitely being out.
Ric
Alex McLeish was reportedly seen getting off a bus at Union Square, heading up Market Street and was last seen buying a meal deal out of Markies in the Bon Accord. Big Eck is heading home to recreate the golden years.

Eck and Gordie dream team, a Markies sponsorship deal and as much percy pigs as you can sink your fangs into. Bye Derek.

Willie Miller's moustache was seen sauntering out of the casino at 3am after a big win and was off to "make it rain" down at Silhouette. Make of that what you will, but reading between the lines, I think it's clear that has DoF written all over it.
G-MAN
That was only our second defeat of the season to anyone outwith Sevco. Bar the start and end of the game, we were all over them and it maybe still had a little bit of a $hit happens, move on feel - rather than full blown crisis. We were never all over County. A few chances yes but nothing out of the ordinary. This isn’t new. This manager has been unable to resolve a problem for 3 months now. P16 W4 D6 L6 F13 A18Are you not also alarmed at the 1-1 Hamilton 2nd half display, the 0-0 draws with United, St J, Motherwell and Livi ?The 2 performances against St Mirren were pathetic as well.

Aye but we were shite before McInnes rocked up so apparently that means he gets to be Manager forever and an infinite amount of time to turn things around

It actually occurred to me earlier that Cormack is very sentimental about the days of yore (the photoshop of him in the Abtrust kit et al) - and so it’s probably more likely that he’d look in the Eck/WGS direction than it may have been otherwise. Hope not, like.

In the middle part of the game, albeit two down, we had all the impetus and until Hayes got injured midway through the second half, it seemed like an equaliser was likely. It was a bad performance overall, but could have been a 'one of those days' thing. All the other games you mention, we started quite well, played some nice stuff, didn't take several chances, and then fell away and could have lost them at the end - albeit Livingston away, we were the ones that had the late chances. None of this is good enough of course - but I would still give the manager to the end of the season to get us going again. He hasn't been far away at times this season - and surely the new signings need to be allowed time to bed in. Golden Gordon
When McInnes goes, I wonder if Cormack will make the managerial appointment solely based on Aberdeen's needs, or whether we are now considered to be Atlanta United (Subsidiary) FC? A managerial Ronald Hernandez if you will.

It worries me that when Derek goes we'll end up with an Atalanta connection.

That's called one team sitting back and hitting on the counter and the other hitting hopeless pot shots. If you go back to that match thread I'm certain you'll not find one comment that says we were in control of that game at any point. There's no room for sentiment. We can't just give him to the summer because he's been here for years and used to be brilliant. You wouldn't accept that at your day job. Why is football different?
red23
So who is the manager who is going to beat Rangers and Celtic to 1st or 2nd? with 1 guaranteed cup final per year? If he doesn't can we boo him? 3rd is where we belong i'm afraid.

Why is football different?True - but I’ve seen AFC teams go down 2 down and do nothing before as well - in isolation it was nowhere near as bad as certain other performances eg Livi last Tuesday, which looked truly hopeless.Let’s look at the previous game in Dingwall - superb display of attacking football and had around 10 good chances in the first half alone - that was only a few months previously, and maybe shows things can change quickly for better or worse.Just don’t agree with pulling the trigger on the manager until he’s had every chance to address this slump, namely getting these new strikers bedded in and looking at his formation. The end of season is probably the right time for change if it’s needed.ps thankfully from what I’m hearing, all the latest rumours are as big a pile of nonsense as the previous meltdown a few weeks back, when Stephen Glass was seen looking at houses in Westhill

Then he has to have a radical change. Recruitment is a mess. The football is a mess. I'll be amazed and delighted if we finish third.
