Actually pretty pleased with the window. GMS was never going to stay and Armstrong was always going to be away in the summer. Got some money in and our defence is looking better than it has for many a year.

I'm pretty relaxed about it as well, after initially feeling a bit pissed off at the reported fee. Good luck to both of them, seem like decent guys. Armstrong was frustratingly inconsistent for us, though excellent on his day, obviously.

Robertson leaving felt much worse.

For all the talk about Armstrong apparently looking gutted in the photos going into Parkhead, The Courier is reporting that Armstrong and GMS made it clear they wanted to go. Hopefully McNamara at least will give an interview to Arabzone about these transfers. If there's any truth to that report then he'll no doubt make a couple of snide digs in their direction.

Armstrong looked 'gutted', because he's a classy kid, and prob doesn't want to piss off the United fans.

He'll soon be soaking up the adulation of the Celtic support no doubt.

As for The Courier reporting. They are absolute jokes of journalists - would take more heed from what some random on MAD says.

To be fair Spence was saying something similar on twitter not long after the fee was agreed, that the club couldn't do much when the players were wanting to leave.

Steady now, I know The Courier is far from brilliant but even they're more reliable than Utd mad.

Like I say, if McNamara gets interviewed in the next couple of days for Arabzone and there is any truth that both players forced United's hand then I don't he'll be able to restrain himself from having a little pop at them.

Oh, what could've been...

Doblas

O'Donnell Wilson Good Robson

Imrie Gomis Allan

Stewart Boyd Cahill

FFS Housty

Gutted to lose Armstrong and GMS at this stage - any lingering, Celtic-injury-plague-spawned glimmer of pushing for the title well and truly buried. Actually think this is a good move for Armstrong, baby step rather than the big plunge down south/abroad that I'm not convinced he'd manage at this stage, gives him exposure to the Champions League, better Scotland prospects, and in the shop window for a bigger move if he blossom's. Can't see GMS being any more than a bench-warmer and impact sub, which makes the 4.5 year deal (wat) seem utterly bizarre. Of the two of them, I can picture Armstrong in a Celtic top but not GMS. Decent deal for United at 2m+ add-ons considering they both wanted away, tremendous turnaround for guys picked up for nothing/a pittance. All the best, lads.

So, we're in the post 2010 transition again. Gomis, Buaben, Conway, Goodwillie, Webster, Goodwillie, Flood, Allan, Swanson, etc etc, how will we replace them, etc etc, Tamson is a jobbiebum, etc etc. Russell, Gauld, Robertson, Armstrong, GMS, Watson. Ciftci likely in the summer?

Anier, McGowan, Dixon, Muirhead, The Ginger Smokie. The squad probably has a better balance now to be honest, and we have workable replacements who now need to step up in the form of Telfer, Connolly, Dow, Erskine, and apparently the new lad Muirhead. Ciftci can drop back too while he's still around. Actually, fcuk it, we're totally fine, just two matchwinners down.

Anyhow, I'm off to wait outside Stuarty's house, pitchforkclippers in hand. Keep your eyes on eBay.
