No idea if true but it was rumoured we were interested in spence. He has been at alloa previously so maybe has more connection with them so understandable if he chose them.

Looks like we are missing out on a couple of other rumoured signings who are better than spence but plenty time yet.

Players will come in. I think our problem is replacing departed players with like for like quality - in the case of hemmings and greg it is almost impossible. Therefore as a team we wont have progressed and become better overall.I feel the team that got us through the play offs will be as good as anything we will see again. Maybe im wrong though.

Got to give the new players whomever they will be a chance to see if they can step up to championship level/step down to this level....lol

Albion Rovers now got Gemmell, McKenzie and Fisher. Putting together a team of ex Cowden players much like our neighbours from Methill seem to do - and fail miserably.

If they can get those three firing then they are three very good lower league players. Fisher looked like he could make the step up but injury perhaps halted his progress.

We were looking at Spence last month (rumour he was going to go full time with us). Either we could not agree a deal, or we just changed our mind. Unless of course, he is waiting to see if he gets a better deal elsewhere before picking us (as seems to be the case on a regular basis).

Do East Fife feed on the scraps from all of the bigger clubs in Fife? A few years back our ex-chairman Willie Gray tried to bankroll them, winning them the third division and proclaiming that it'd be the greatest day of his life next season when they went to Stark's to give us a doing and how they were progressive and we'd remain static. They signed up a raft of our ex-players including dross like Jonny Smart, before picking up Paul McManus in controversial circumstances.

Needless to say, we're now up to 25 years unbeaten against them as they failed on four occasions and two cup ties to beat us. No matter how bad things get with Rovers always remins me that their best wasn't even good enough to better than time.
