Can't see Larsson wanting the job. Lennon might not have been a great manager but realistically what can any new boss hope to deliver over and above what Lennon achieved? He'll win the league by default, winning either or both cups will be no great achievement, and the best they can hope for in Europe is the odd appearance in the Champions' League knockout stage. With Rangers no longer in the picture he won't be able to give the fans the traditional satisfaction of getting one over them.

Leftfield suggestion. Sellic could pay him in cheesy nachos and Um Bongo.

And he could pay himself in money stolen from the biscuit tin and laundered out of the PAYE, hopping off at the end as the entire place goes into receivership. Excellent.

A treble perhaps?

You think that will satisfy the candle-holding horde?

Are that lot ever satisfied?! Just look at how they felt about a far more successful manager in Gordon Strachan!

Exactly - what does this job have to offer anyone who isn't a huge Celtic fan? Having less resources than your immediate predecessor who wasn't very good at his job, knowing there is no realistic hope of doing any better than him no matter how good you are, plus the added burden that comes if you're not sufficiently Celtic-minded.

Have to laugh at Aiden McGeady's comments, "It's a big blow losing Lennon. Ever since he took over at Celtic, he was brilliant and has been fantastic for the club."

He then goes on to say, "If you are not winning two trophies a year at Celtic, you are seen as a failure".

Lennon failed to win more than one trophy in three of the four seasons he was Celtic manager so going by McGeady's logic, he was mainly a failure.

Doesn't sound so 'fantastic' or 'brilliant' now Aiden?

The job offers a decent wage to managers who are out of work. It also offers the opportunity to develop an international reputation via the Champions League. Celtic will get plenty of applications from England and abroad. It could appeal to the likes of Pepe Mel, Paul Ince, Michael Laudrup or even Claudio Ranieri.

If Lennons reason for leaving was indeed concerns over the playing budget then that's absolutely pathetic and shows how awful a manager he is.

St Johnstone have their wage bill slashed considerably every year and yet Lomas got them in Europe and Wright has won them the Scottish cup despite having minuscule resources.

If Lennon had worked on youth development instead of buying absolute shite like Pukki and Balde for millions then he wouldn't even have been put in that position.

He knows the famous are catching them nxt season

I love the game they play on the BBC website where they try to find a picture where the person involved looks like a total knob - but not too much so that no-one complains.

Off topic, but my favourite was the picture of Craig Whyte looking like an utter loonball in an article about him being declared not to be a fit and proper person or something like that.
