The money could have paid out to the clubs and then if they wanted to they could have voted for reconstruction. What the SPFL and the member clubs are trying to do is put Hearts and Partick out of business by limiting their trading. This is just as much a business issue as a footballing one. So what you're saying is it's unfair to demote Hearts/Patrick to a league which will hamper their income but it's perfectly reasonable to do that exact thing to Dundee United, Raith and Cove? Please advise.

NJ2
Because the new Sky contract had to start on the 1st August, and the government has just allowed full contact training to resume. So in July you're expecting clubs to have their first contact training session, play 8 league games and then 2 play off games. Hearts could end up playing 10 games in 25 days with 2 days training beforehand. And then go straight into 20/21, which is going to be a struggle to complete anyway due to the Euros now being wedged in next Summer. You see how stupid that is?Yeah, sky would definitely have taken money off clubs. Always best to try and bankrupt the people you’re about to go in to contract with. You see how stupid that is?The start of the 20/21 could easily have been moved back with more midweek fixtures to accommodate and why the f**k are you worried about the euros? How many players in the top flight will be playing in it? -

We won't we coming anywhere near your small time club. Aw the small club from Edinburgh spat the dummy!! Bet if it was Livingstone, Hamilton or St.Johnstone QC Ann Budge wont be bothered. Good dont come to Starks Park clubs like Hearts & Partick not welcome here. Funny how Hearts are moaning about Cove, Raith & Dundee Utd, but not about Celtic winning the league, so how does that work?? Anyway one from Edinburgh's wee team like to answer?? How many players in the top flight will be playing in it? Sky already took money off clubs. The SPFL has to pay back part of the 19/20 deal, in installments, over the next few seasons. The EPL and EFL Championship were also threatened with this, which is why they're playing through, as the refund they were due were astronomical amounts. The Euros are important because UEFA dont allow games to be televised during their tournaments. You see how thay would affect things dont you? Surely? As far shortening next season, there weren't even enough game weeks to complete the 19/20 top flight season (our game v Rangers has been outstanding since October without a date), and they're already struggling to fit in 20/21 due to the Euros, and that's with scrapping the winter break. It's not possible to compress next season any further, and any postponements are going to cause chaos as it is.

Nobody said anything about shortening the season, don’t think anyone would be arsed if the games were on tv either. We’d have played the games and got relegated anyway, we were honking, but to argue it was the only choice isn’t right. I think it would have been possible to pause the season, pay out the money, play out the games and sort it out as we go. You don’t think that’s an option and neither is going to make the other change their mind.

I think it would have been possible to pause the season, pay out the money, play out the games and sort it out as we go. You don’t think that’s an option and neither is going to make the other change their mind. No they wouldnt have taken money. The biggest issue with playing this season was the government's decision to ban training. Full contact training wasnt allowed until Monday last week. The 20/21 has to end on a certain date for the Euros, whether you agree with that or not, that's just a fact that cannot be changed. The games have to be televised at the end as part of the TV deal. Again, you might not agree with that, but it's a fact. Not playing the play offs this listen has caused refunds to go to TV companies, theres no point repeating that two seasons in a row for no reason. If you accept that 20/21 top flight season must be complete and played to a finish, then you accept it must start on August 1st, as otherwise it wont fit in. If you accept that, then you accept the 19/20 season must be finished in July. As government guidelines didnt allow it earlier, and next season didnt allow it later. If you include play offs, that one top flight side having to play 10 games in under 27 days. The clubs made a decision to take a small hit from the 19/20 TV deal, to maintain the far superior 20/21 deal. It makes sense, and if Hearts were 11th when the league stopped youd be arguing the exact same point. Nobody voted to relegate Hearts, they voted for what's best for themselves, so stop taking everything to personally.

That's not true, Sky are taking £170,000,000 off the EPL and they are playing it is deferred until the 2020/21 season though but they are getting a refund.
