StuartTaylor
Maybe discussed earlier in the thread but - the Podcasts are fine but why don't Sportsound allow the live commentary, or the complete edition to be played back? You can with Radio5 coverage.
craigkillie
It's probably a rights issue.

How much do you think the BBC would have to pay to change the rights, an extra £50 a year? It's not like I can imagine there's a huge demand for on demand football match radio commentary.

Thats 5 Saturday afternoons with Peter grant.

The SPFL might sell them to somebody else, no idea.
Ray Patterson
The SPFL are weirdly strict over rights use, the BBC only have partial rights for radio broadcast as well, hence why they don't have live comms of every game. There was a few years when Bauer had live comms of all 3pms.
The Master
On the rare occasions that Radio Five have commentary of an SPFL game, it's available on-demand afterwards.
The Master
14 League Cup games tonight. One commentary game and a reporter at another. But of course, there’s a reporter at Ibrox for Allan McGregor’s testimonial.
Thenorthernlight
Going to the vermin game against Newcastle before getting reports on 80% of the League Cup games. No surprise. BBC sooking the *** boaby now that they’re speaking again.
scoobles
"Arbroath start their campaign tomorrow night where they will be taking on Arbroath." Dick Campbell will be delighted to hear that on the drive back from Ibrox. /Didn't catch the presenters name

Glad I didn’t have to hear a Billy Dodds post match interview for once

Surprised they didn’t have live commentary from it tbh.
David W
What irritates me more is the awful Kheredine Idessane doing interviews. He was basically begging for Eddie Howe to talk about how good Rangers are and how good the crowd was. It was the same with Rodri after the Spain game.

Driving home from last night's game was painful enough with the Arbroath v Arbroath insight, worse for me was hearing her read out the updated league group tables, apologies to anybody I might have crashed into between Cumnock and Ayr, blame my actions on Jane Lewis. How these people are ever deemed competent for a national radio station truly baffles me.
