That seems irrelevant. Surely it's about maintaining a standard? Sporting integrity, if you will.

If we wanted a standard maintained regarding sporting integrity, we'd have a very different model of financial distribution.

It's not remotely irrelevant.

Yes, because clubs in their top flights have such comparable resources to our own.

Good point.

The weather in Spain is identical to Scotland's too.

My only gripe with artificial pitches is players having to miss out playing on them for medical reasons. Until that's resolved then they shouldn't be allowed. When it is then fire ahead as it's a great way for clubs to raise much needed income.

They should. Would be in the top flight in England or Spain.

Why should they be banned? And in what possible way is what they do in Spain or England relevant? Do they allow artificial pitches in the Ethiopian top flight? What about the top flight in Tajikistan? Do they allow them in the Peruvian top flight?

Aspiring to the best conditions possible in which to play football.

These pitches clearly still cause issues for players (despite huge advances in the technology). When major leagues and tournaments allow it then it becomes an acceptable surface to play top class football.

The whole 'don't compare us with England' brigade need to take a breath every now and then.

Him and someone else were saying that artificial pitches should be banned from the top flight

Were they not commenting because of the state of the artificial pitch at Rugby Park?
We're told that these pitches are getting better and better all the time yet the ones that we play on in this country are piss poor.

They were talking about Killie's one at first which is apparently shite (even Kilmarnock have said as much) but then said no one should be allowed an artificial pitch* in the Premiership.

*Actually they insisted on calling them all 'astroturf'
