Forgive my complete ignorance of our how our ticketing works but I've only just moved back to God's own country after more than a decade south of the wall. Haven't been to an away game for at least 15 years but was hoping to go to Hibs on Saturday.

Is the only way to get tickets for that to physically go to our club shop? I realise I'm not very organised but still that seems insane.

Edit: If so I'm also probably fucked unless some kind soul is going today and can meet me in Edinburgh tomorrow?

I’m literally on a train stopping over in Dundee so I can pick up a ticket

Only knew yesterday I’d manage to make the game

I’ll be in Dundee after one

I can possibly do this for you

I will be raising this when I collect my own ticket, it’s pure one off luck that I’m able to justify this detour today

From today's courier...

"Dundee owners Tim Keyes and John Nelms are close to finalising the deal to bring Dens Park back into club ownership.

The stadium has been owned by local businessman John Bennett since 2009.

However, it’s understood that situation is on the verge of coming to an end, with talks between Dark Blues chiefs and Bennett at an advanced stage.

Courier Sport reported in 2021 that Keyes and Nelms planned on purchasing Dens as a key part of their new stadium project at Camperdown Park.

The price had been set between the parties for a number of years, quoted by the BBC in 2013 as £750,000.

Bennett, a former director at Dundee United, has been clear since taking ownership of the ground – to help the club through financial difficulty – that he would only ever sell Dens if it was going back to the club.

During a 2015 attempt to buy the stadium back under then-chairman Bill Colvin, Bennett said: “I told Dundee at the time I bought the ground that I would sell it back if it was going into the hands of Dundee fans and I’ll stand by that.”

Talks in 2015, however, fell through.

In 2021 Keyes and Nelms’ purchase plan was delayed, then came close to fruition once more in November 2022, before again being delayed.

Now it appears the long-running saga is finally set come to an end.

In securing a deal for Dens Park, Dundee’s owners will take a major step towards their goal of building a new stadium at Camperdown Park.

The planning permission process for the Dark Blues’ new home is expected to formally begin in the coming months."

I wonder if owning the Dens before we can build New Campy, means that we are taking the Coxy and Shankly with us?

They originally said they'd be reusing some bits of Dens I think. No idea if that is whole stands or just some decorative bits like the panelling in the board room.

They also said they want to build houses on Dens to help cover the costs so I worry about the timing and if they want to build them first rather than after the new stadium is built since that could take years by itself.

If I was a Dundee fan, I'd be hugely concerned if your owners wanted to build houses on the Dens site before you started building a new stadium. Far too many examples on Scottish football of how this more often than not either ends up in no new stadium, a massive period groundsharing or a much reduced plan for a new stadium.

Once there is actually some construction taking place at the new site, then you'd believe it, but until then....

As for taking bits of Dens to a new stadium, not having a pop or anything, but is there genuinely any bit of Dens that could conceivably be repurposed? The newest stands are 20+ years old and I can imagine much in the main stand could be repurposed other than decorative bits such as panelling as above. I doubt there would be much reusable in really any scottish stadium/stand older than a few years.

I'd love it if Dundee got a new stadium as its long overdue, but I just cannot see it happening if it hasn't happened in 10 years or these owners.

Just ditch the idea of Camperdown and build a stadium at Slessor Gardens or an Everton style one where the Apex is. Pretty sure that is around where Dundee's first ground was? 🤔

Jealous of our impending hover-pitch and megacasino.

My team for tomorrow:

Carson

Kerr Shaugnessy Lamie Beck

Boateng Sylla

McCowan Cameron Lewis

Bakayoko

I've seen nothing of Lewis but I certainly have seen enough of Robinson being played as a winger. If Lewis isn't capable of starting then he's a waste of space in our squad.

Robinson has done very well at tracking back etc, but if he's to play then I want it to be as an out and out striker where he was comfortable last season. Cameron has only ever had shockers out wide so I'd be putting McCowan back out there for this one.

McGhee and Tiffoney both out.

Thank You.

No bad news here, apart from you, popping in for a 'chit-chat'.

Thank you.

I can understand why some are saying they thought it was a red but I totally agree with you.
I’m surprised that more has not been said about the penalty - Bakayoko was less than 2 feet away.
I guess over the season a few decisions will go our way.

We got a soft penalty at St Mirren. Missed it right enough.

So I’ve ordered my tickets on our club site and I assumed they would be emailed with a QR code or something to get into the stadium. I’m being a dafty but do tickets need to be collected from Dens?

Yes, tickets are collection-only because they were printed by Hibs and sent to the shop.
