Where did you ever think we were gonna finish 10th so comfortably?
I sometimes wonder if I watch different games when it comes to Dundee.
Surely it wasnt because of January that you thought this managed has a clue in what's going on ?
Twice dundee have had a big support to paisley and twice we have left disappointed.
We have a week left to get season ticket money in for next season. ( cant remember what price they were offering).

Would love to know already how many have signed up to it.

All I know is it’s not constructive to be constantly negative, to criticise fellow supporters and ask inane questions about when the new stadium is going to be built when none of us no more than you.

Straight question - who should they have appointed as manager?

McIntyre's appointment wouldn't grate that bad if there was an actual process travelled other than "Who's out of work and worked in Scotland?"

The blame for that is at Keyes', he's appointed Nelms as he thinks he's adequate. He has to be asking questions of John now. The same in that John now has to be pro-active, back your disaster of an appointment or (hopefully) relieve him of his duties. Proper process, whoever comes in wants to be at Dundee, whichever league. Give them the split and the summer then we go again.

Waiting around limits the pool and doesn't give the players already here a pressurised chance to prove themselves.

Do the decent thing, John. Send Jim packing.

If I recall correctly Nelms came out at the time of McIntyre’s appointment and talked about the fact the board placed a heavy emphasis on the win ratios of the various candidates for the job.

There are far more considerations to make appointing a manager than stats.  A 50% win ratio in the league when managing Man City is poor. A 50% win ratio with the players Dundee have had the last couple of seasons would be exceptional.

Nelms doesn’t appear to understand football, let alone Scottish football.  In fact, given that he appointed McIntyre and was hoping to appoint Dodds as his assistant is a clear indication he doesn’t even understand or have a basic knowledge of the club itself.

Guest My Brother Woody

Get a good motivator in for the last 7 games. Dunno who that is but no point going on like this.

Cammy, Gowser and O Dea back in for Horsfield, Kusunga and Woods.

Very negative post, :-(

Who would you of appointed?

I don’t really know enough about the budget or who was available at the time of McIntyre’s appointment to suggest someone else.

What I do know is that the position we were in required an appointment that would, at the very least, give us the new manager bounce.  By appointing McIntyre Nelms ensured that the first period of McIntyre’s appointment would be dogged by questions about Billy Dodds and who his assistant would be.

I am not a great believer that a manager has to have a previous link to the club.  I do however believe that any new manager should sound enthusiastic about his appointment.  Did anyone get that feeling from McIntyre?

I honestly think Nelms saw that McIntyre had previously saved County from relegation (also won a cup)  and that McIntyre and Dodds would simply repeat that.  Then again, McIntyre seemed to want to bring in any player he could that had been with him when he won the cup.  How utterly naive by both of them.

For me ( n I backed him compared to the last two fannies ) he ran out of ideas .
He got us into the top league , something many failed on doing and it took Hartley 1 season and then we get a top 6 after 1 season in the league. We lose our main 2 players and then it all fell apart :-(

Absolutely - I wanted him sacked at the time and he was deservedly so.

If we had the power of foresight though? If we knew Nelms would appoint McCann and then McIntyre? I'd have stuck by Hartley tbh.

That’s it in a nutshell. Deserved to be sacked but wouldn’t have done it if we knew McCann or/and McIntyre were his replacements.

Hartley deserved to go, he ran his course. McCann deserved to go, but more importantly, should have never been appointed in the first place. McIntyre deserves to go for a mixture of both reasons.

Finally, and more seriously, it’s Nelms that deserves the bullet more than anyone. He’s no clue, and that’s being kind.

Thank you.

Do you remember that good feeling or even a winning feeling of wanting to go and watch Dundee and just enjoy going to the football? I've more people in my group of pals / family also who are deciding against going and that's with all ready having tickets for the games or even being offered free tickets .

Let's be absolutely honest, I think there's only been mini little phases of that since the Bonetti era. The Deefiant season excluded - Has there ever been a season of truly enjoying the fare on show?

Considering how Hartley got on Falkirk, theres an argument you could've been even worse off.
