All things Dundee FC

Our captain isn't frozen out, he's injured.

That makes its even better. Star striker sold for peanuts, star winger demanding a move, cult hero frozen out for refusing to slash his wages, captain as a high earner but out for most of the season and rumours the budget needs cut further.

Tremendous.

Add in a frozen out captain who's refusing to take a wage cut and you're almost at Livingston levels of hilarity.

James McPake hasn't been frozen out. Our vice captain is also a regular.

If what Hartley is reported to be saying is true, in that he's looking to bring in 3 players, then that would appear to quash any finance rumours. Would also be surprised if we sent the whole squad on a weeks jolly to Austria if we were skinto. But its Dundee FC we are talking about here.

To be fair, when we are going bust, we tend to go bust in style. If we are in financial difficulty I'll expect us to be getting linked to the likes of Charlie Adam and Paul Pogba pretty soon.

There's nothing to factually state we've only received £250k other than a vague statement from a paper in Oxford and a previous rumour about a release clause. Oxford received £3 million for a striker the other day.

Not saying we haven't just got the disappointing £250k, but if we have got more, it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to allow the thought process that we did only get £250k if we are to try and prize a few targets away from other Scottish clubs.

Hiya Mallan, hiya pal!

Its fairly clear both Dundee and Oxford have decided to keep quiet about the actual figure, but Oxford have given the press down there a vague figure of "six figures but not close to a record fee" to placate the journalists and fans.

I'm playing Devil's Advocate and eternal optimist, but that doesn't mean they've been 100% truthful or, that the Oxford paper has a Liam Kennedy style journalist working for them.

Something doesn't add up. Our board denied any such clause and the papers down Birmingham way were saying just a few days ago that Birmingham City had dropped their interest due to the fee we wanted.

More than likely the £250k figure is accurate, but we don't know for sure.
