Video of the interview on BBC website.  His body language, comments and general attitude says it all.  Any hint of confidence has gone.  How can he possibly motivate the players for the next game?

Hartley's heads gone. 1st 18/24 months he was right up for the challenge now he's just run out of ideas.

Even simple things like trying new ideas at attacking set pieces have gone, it's now just aimless balls into the box. At 1 of the corners 2nd half we didn't even bother our arses having a man in the 6 yard box, needless to say the ball went straight to the keeper.

We used to be a side who kept the ball well, playing some nice stuff that was good to watch. Now it's just shite. An aimless launch to Haber who has no one playing off him. Does El Bahktoui no what he's doing playing upfront. He's never anywhere near Haber to play off his flick ons. Frustrating as f**k seeing 2 strikers playing so far apart.

5 at the back is an utter shit formation as well. 5 at the back with 3 of them playing out of position is fucking farcical.

The biggest crime yesterday was Cammy at left back when it was totally unnecessary. Closely followed by Hateley anywhere in the team. Then Vincent being the first to get hooked. Finally taking off Cammy next, unless he was injured, when it was clear Wighton couldn't score in a barrel of fannies.

On a positive note young Higgins looks a bit of a prospect.

Cammy could hardly walk by the time he came off, seemed to twist his ankle when he stepped on the ball and the ref bizarrely gave a Hamilton freekick.

The Vincent substitution was bizarre, players who were much worse than him stayed on the pitch (step forward Paul McGowan).

Hartley seems to be totally out of ideas, keep thinking this is the day he'll correct the errors and play it simple, but that day is not forthcoming it appears.

again today we played 5 at the back with 3 players playing out of position when we could have easily played a back 4 with everyone playing in their normal position. Blows my fucking mind.

He's lost the plot.

That's pretty spot on. Felt for Kerr today. He tried to get forward but when he did so he struggled to make any meaningful crosses.

We give penalties away for free. If it's not Gomis, it's Jules. Today it was Hateley's turn to feck up. Corners were garbage. One good cross first half. Liability all over the park.

Wighton was 100% useless today. You would think a Dundee supporter would put in more effort. Try to get on the right side of his man to receive the ball. Lazy. Little boy lost.

He rearranged some deckchairs today. He'll rearrange them next game as well clueless. Monkeys and typewriters comes to mind.

He has to go and go now.

As for Wighton I think he has absolutely zero confidence at the moment. Hardly surprising considering he seems to get none from Hartley publicly (about his finishing at least). Young lads need to know that the manager believes in them and I don't think Wighton is getting that

I realise I might get pilloried for saying this - but maybe Wighton just isn't very good? Lots of players don't realise their early potential and Wighton hasn't really offered anything.

You can cling to the excuse that the position he plays isn't really suited to him but that doesn't account for being poor at the basics. He's not a very good striker of the ball, he's not a very good crosser, he still gets outmuscled, offers nothing in the air and his passing isn't out of this world either.

I'm not writing him off, he can still be a very good player for us but the 'boy wonder' attitude that Bomber helped cultivate with the fans has done him absolutely no favours.

Wighton is not good enough, it's simple. I get the feeling he's one of those boys who can do everything in training and looks like a star but just doesn't have the physicality or the attitude to play at this level. I've been saying it all season but some fans have grasped onto the fact that he's been in numerous Scotland youth squads over the years, thinking that will make him a superstar. It's a harsh reality, but a reality none the less. His level is at least 2 leagues down.

Has Higgins stepped up from the 20s?
