The Northern Ireland Euro 2016 Qualifying Thread

Surely, surely Northern Ireland will qualify now. A piss easy group and a start that puts them firmly in the driving seat, failing to qualify would now be a disappointment

Good luck to them, but you must be joking with that comment.

Their group is wide open and apart from the Faroes (who are actually a pretty decent team for a population of 40,000) - all the teams can beat each other.

They've already beaten Hungary and Greece away, and Romania and Finland aren't any better than those two. They've put themselves in the driving seat and if they win the majority of their home games they should now qualify

You obviously know nothing about Norn Iron and the nature of our team. Previous campaigns have seen us beat West Germany home and away, (the only country ever to do so in the same qualifying campaign), and then lose to Albania, who were very poor back then, when a point would have taken us through, and that's only one example. We frequently beat the better sides and fall short against the minnows.

We were losing to Luxembourg in the last qualifiers, so no talk of qualifying just yet please?

As for piss easy, Greece, awful though their style of football is, regularly qualify for the final stages of tournament .

Stunning result for NI.

That the awful Greece side who have polluted finals tournaments with successful showings of pitiful anti-football guff, are three-quarters burst after three games in the qualifiers, is hugely pleasing.

The big test for NI is against Romania who won in Finland tonight. Take something from that game and who knows...think they have exceeded all expectations so far.

They've certainly exceeded my expectations. Let's hope they can keep it going. Great start to the campaign.
