General Election 2015

I can't wait for the pishy, shitey wee Liberals to get the utter pasting that's coming their way. An utterly pathetic party.

Still, nice to see the unionists desperate to run this as another referendum campaign.

Embarrassing.

Of course the other major factor that the three clown parties forget is that there will be a fair amount of no voters who want more devolution and will therefore vote SNP.

I'll vote for the SNP at the general election, as I have done since I was able to vote. I'm far from an activist, but they are the one political party where I see consenus with a lot of my views on things. Naturally, i don't agree with every single aspect of SNP policy, but it's nice to have a party where you feel that not only can a difference be made, but that they will genuinely strive to do so.

How many parties worldwide become more popular after terms in government? There can't be many in democratic nations.

The National Socialists in Germany circa 1920-1930s. :P

Does anyone think the polls will narrow significantly nearer the election? I'm beginning to have my doubts.

Maybe there will be a bit of movement as we enter the campaign period, but I just can't see it moving 10 or 20 points with under 3 months to go.

Murphy, who I rated highly, has been dreadful so far, and Milliband even more unpopular than Cameron in Scotland, you have to wonder what will attract voters back to Labour?

They just seem a disjointed mess right now and it's hard to see them getting it together before May

Have we had a Scotland only poll since the Ashcroft polls? Would be interesting to see if the media interest and panicked LiS response along with a few populist headline grabbers (alcohol, nurses) and fear mongering (nhs, tories) has had any impact.

Still can't quite believe the polls and once the campaign starts for real and we are bombarded by Millibean and Call me Dave as a binary choice day in day out surely they have to squeeze the "others"

Jim Murphy's scattergun smear campaign is unravelling a bit over the last couple of days. He tried similar about SNP's plans to 'scrap' the Barnett formula and even the Scotsman ripped him apart for his daft ascertions and calculations.

I haven't been following the news much, what was the LiS response?

Aye, in the run-up to May I fear the polls will narrow a bit, and a fair portion of the Tory vote, as well as the lumpen unionist portion of the "missing million", might make an extra special effort to vote against the SNP this time (probably for Labour) if the "threat" appears too great for their comfort.

The polls probably won't show in advance how a lot of these folk, or this section of the newly-expanded electorate, intend to vote.

~Not everybody who came out of the woodwork after decades of silence specifically for the ref was pro-Yes, as the result showed.

I'm just stating common knowledge.

I dont think anyone would disagree that the nazis were w@nks, but young joseph does have a point re. The growth and strength of the country post 1st world war under the national socialist party. Unfortunately they were complete disgusting fascists and eventually got what they deserved.

And didn't have to worry about it since he'll get a free ride from the media.

How is speaking the truth trolling? The NSDAP were in the right place, at the right time. A nation was bankrupt, fell behind in its payments, unemployment at high, inflation beyond control, a hollow military but by 1936 Germany suffered from none of those things.

Aye they were a nasty bunch but if you don't understand why they were popular then you need to look into German History between 1918 and 1933.
