speckled tangerine
Im a little curious why Labour is going to ban Zero hours but the SNP will have a "consultation" on it."Caring for the poor" would surely make that an easy decision.Rupert had a word maybe ?? Labour will ban "exploitative" zero hour contracts. How do they propose to designate what is "exploitative" or is not? Folk work for labour on ZHCs at the moment. Are they being exploited? They propose to make employers take folk on with a regular contract after 3 months. Or more likely let them go. It's a tagline. Nae c**t knows how it will work. That goes for most of their manifesto. How many zero-hour contracts do you think that the Labour government banned in their last period in government? Or even managed to reduce in number? http://www.theworkfoundation.com/DownloadPublication/Report/339_Flexibility%20or%20Insecurity%20-%20final.pdf Page 23 folks. Tl;dr: Despite entering office in an economic upswing and leaving office with unemployment skyrocketing, there were as many zero-hours contracts at the start of the Labour government as at the end. They did precisely nothing about it, despite three comfortable parliamentary majorities. Do as we say, not as we do - the standard mantra of a brainless Labour goon. FuzzyAffro
At least we are banning them then while champions of the downtrodden masses the SNP are "consulting" about it.With new best bud Mr Murdoch and maybe wee homophobe bus tycoon Mr Souter having a wee say.... Jesus, you really are a modern politician's dream audience. Have you not noticed the repeated, repeated, repeated use of the word "exploitative"? Now, given that any sane person would describe any form of demand contract which allows the employer to have workers at their beck and call, while offering no security to the worker, as exploitative, why do you think Murphy et al continually use the qualifier? In your own time...

Three majoroties, the same number of times they cut corporation tax last time they were in office. Then during the referendum it was a terrible thing to do as the SNP planned to do it. Now they plan on doing it again if they get elected. That's Labour for you, principles are non-existent, and any lie is acceptable if it helps the party.
