TheScarf
Who is it for you? Thought about adding a poll but I don't think there's that many options to choose from IMO. For me, it's Andy Murray. What he has achieved in his career, in arguably the hardest era of tennis, puts him in first place. Having to negotiate Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in their prime and still winning 2 Grand Slams, 10 Masters and an Olympic gold has yet to be surpassed by any one else in any other sport. The_Kincardine
In terms of international exposure it has to be The Weege's own Bobby Thomson. The Shot Heard Round The World: Aside from that? Jim Clark.

J_Stewart
Stephen Hendry is the only Scottish sportsman I can think of that utterly dominated his sport consistently over years and years. He gets my vote.

GiGi
Stephen Hendry. He raised the bar in terms of breakbuilding and consistency in his sport. Imagine there were 20-odd tournaments a year in his heyday? His records would be untouchable. Murray a close second.

Mark Connolly
Gordon Ramsay. In serious mode, Murray or Hoy would be my picks, with an honourable mention to Jackie Stewart.

Co.Down Hibee
Probably Murray as he is a top contender at a time when his sport is at its strongest ever, Dalglish would need a mention too .
John Lambies Doos
Would have to say Chic Charnley but Murray is a close 2nd.
