Gianfranco
I'm hoping he's gonna be back up and we sign two more forwards. Please

RandomGuy.
Nice to see Motherwell doing their best to finish 11th again, brave lads, only hope Hibs can complete their part of the plan
Mr Waldo
I think we'll be surprised from this suprise. I think we'll bring into more strikers & we'll need to see their quality first.
capt_oats
Would suggest this is a direct replacement for Sutton more than anything. Having said that Baraclough managed to turn Josh Law into a solid enough right back in the first XI and got a tune out of Erwin so hopefully he sees a role that can get the best out of Clarkson and he's not just been brought in because he's available. Swello
Don't you just hate it when the player fucks up your post by signing.. At least I was complimentary about him....

ark loyal
At the least he'll not be able to score against us! As Casagolda said earlier, if he's been brought in as a 3rd striker its a decent signing. Don't want to be relying on him too much.
MikeyWellFan
Dreadful signing IMO. Will give him the benefit of the doubt though.

Casagolda
To be fair we seen and heard all the same things from Hearts fans when we re-signed John Sutton. 'HAHA he's well shit and lazy lol lol lol!!1!' Despite being supposedly shit for Dundee he still scored 9 goals in 19 starts last season, regardless of what they're fans think about him that's an impressive return and more than anyone apart from Sutton and Ainsworth managed for us last season. He also scored 25 goals in 65 starts in the league for us under McGhee in his last two seasons at Fir Park, so the guy scores goals at this level. We all know what we're getting, we've seen him often enough to know his limitations and what he can and can't do. We've lost three strikers this summer in Erwin, McDonald and Sutton and I'd say that's a pretty decent replacement for Sutton as I mentioned earlier in terms of being the rotational option off the bench. Some players, like Sutton, just suit certain clubs and we'll just have to hope the same applies for Clarkson. We still desperately need a keeper, a couple of centre backs and a couple of more options in the forward areas with at least one pacey, mobile striker to replace Erwin. Sounds like the club have got a few things lined up so hopefully this gets the ball rolling and we start to see a few more much needed new faces arrive. If that's what you need to tell yourself to convince that he's anything other than an atrocious signing, fair enough. Once he went through his purple patch with us, he offered nothing, he was about as useful as sticking a plank of wood up top.

He then give it away really cheaply. The plank of wood would, therefore, have been more useful. Best you guys can hope for is a waste of a wage, honestly, don't play him, even as a sub
Casagolda
Dat thread.Opening post, which I can't quote cause you locked it you sneaky scamp, verbatim; Been an awesome signing for us and today he equalled Alan Gilzean's record of 7 goals in 7 games for us. For a player that was snubbed by St Johnstone, Motherwell and Kilmarnock to being the form player in the league is quite something. If he keeps this up, he could be forcing himself back into the fringe sections of the Scotland squad.Holds the ball up well even when he's not slotting and brings our midfield into the game. Despite his great start the focus is on his goals, and whilst that should be the case, even if he wasn't scoring he's been a striker Dundee have needed for a long, long time as he hassles defenders all day long. Really looking like the developed version of the big talent that Motherwell had back all them years ago.

Ludo*1
If Clarkson finishes top scorer, or gets 8 in 8 for Motherwell, I will again, half in jest, half seriously tout him for a call-up again. The fact is - he won't.
