The Greenock Morton Thread - It's Better Than Yours

Recommended Posts

You’ve introduced that “if” word there. Don’t know “if” a two out of three voting ruled the day, but it’s equally likely that a unanimous decision would be needed for the penalty.

It could also be argued that £40k plus £20k suspended was the minimum that the one wanting a bigger penalty was prepared to accept. Perhaps the other two wanted a £10k fine and a slapped wrist, but the £40k plus £20k was the only thing that got them home in time for Eastenders. Who knows for sure?

There is precedent here that goes against Morton seeking compensation. John Boyle planned to sue Rangers because they took a non player employee (George Adam) to Ibrox. Boyle had to bow to legal advice that in the real world, no law (statute law)was broken, and any case brought against Rangers would fail.

As a matter of interest, when Morton went into administration, were any contracts ripped up, or was each and every one of them honoured in full?

Time to draw a line under it and move on. McKinnon did not want to manage us so moved on. No compensation so he could have just walked. We have more important things to worry about than a former manager who was here for a few weeks. Lets back the team and make sure were not dragged any further towards the bottom.

...Except that it's not mutually exclusive to hound Falkirk and a snake manager while also addressing crap performances - though of course the last thing we should be do is  'back a team' run by an absolute incompetent to improve matters on the park.

Other than all that mewling fail then, a solid 0/10 post.

..... So, let's be clear here. Are you advocating that the Morton fans boo the team onto the park, and continue to hound them for the full 90 minutes until either results improve or JJ is gone? Really?

Do you have to work hard at being such a complete twat or does it come naturally?

PS  -  "Mewling"???  ffs..........

Please don't taunt him mate. He might start on the Brian Wake patter.

He has never seen a twat never mind worked on one.

Falkirk will lose their so called we have new evidence appeal. Falkirk will not want this going to a civil court. Both legal teams will get together to thrash out compensation then it will be up to Morton to except it that is the way this is going to pan out.

Talks legal terms but can’t spell accept.

Can completely dismiss everything you say. Can you “except” that?

Maybe we are appealing because the fine is higher than the maximum in the SFA rule book?

Also, a bit strange that the panel asked a board member of the SPFL (Warren Hawkes) for evidence on behalf of Morton. Why not ask Rae?

“Falkirk are appealing” - now THERE’S a phrase that’s rarely seen.......

Re Warren Hawke - the fact that he has a position on with the SPFL has nothing to do with this affair. The fact that he is chief executive and a club director at Cappielow, and as such would have had much more to do with the administrative and contractual side of appointing  McKinnon and the other guys than Rae, the chairman,  would, has PLENTY to do with it. That’ll be why he was asked to appear and answer questions on the matters being discussed. Simples.

Go find some other straws to clutch at. Then keep them to yourself - this whole debate is becoming really tiresome. None of us know the reasons for the appeal. Time we all gave it a rest, let it take its course and then, no doubt, there’ll be plenty of ammunition for both sides to spout more nonsense

A grown man.

Fucking hell.

If it's good enough for the meerkats it's good enough for this dump.

Interesting that that's all you can find to take issue with. Makes it one of your better posts, imo.

Some may disagree with that proposition.

We’re now five points ahead of 8th placed Falkirk, six ahead of 9th placed Alloa and seven ahead of Partick.

If that sounds like a comfortable gap, consider that since we beat Ross County at the start of January, Falkirk have already made up 10 points on us and Partick have already made up 7.

We have sleepwalked into a relegation battle and there is no doubt that Johansson will take us down if he’s allowed to keep the job until the end of the season. He has to be sacked before it’s too late.

Ever considered becoming a professional mourner at funerals? You're pretty adept at wailing and moaning. So good in fact you should be a Falkirk fan.

We're the best team in the league so far in 2019 great job by Ray and the boys the way he has us playing we'll be in the top 6

I’m sure all the Morton supporters will be keen to applaud their ex-manager on getting Falkirk out of the relegation places.
Wonder who might replace us there at the end of the season?…

You’re entitled to your opinion, however daft it may be, but no-one on here gives a monkey’s. Bugger aff.
