Got back to winning ways defeating Forres Mechanics but Formartine ended our Scottish Cup dreams with a convincing 3-1 victory, which enraged me as I wanted a run in it and in 3 matches against them I haven't won a single game. This prompted me to tell striker Reghan Tumilty who came in loan from Arbroath in no uncertain terms that if he didn't improve he was out of the side. He's responded well scoring 5 goals in the next 3 games. Clachnacuddin felt something of a backlash from us ending up on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline.

The next match against Inverurie Locos was a bad tempered affair, Phil Hammond seeing red for a horrific tackle and us suffering two injuries. McCulloch's injury coming after using all three subs so I was forced to play more than half an hour with 9 men. Trying to contain Locos didn't sit well with me so I took a risk and kept my attacking strategy and karma rewarded the team with an injury time goal for us to win 3-1.

Formartine's predicted line-up

Our last line-up

post-20092-0-91029200-1434373515_thumb.j

We are without Duncan and Hammond who are both suspended.

How the teams lined up.

On our bench only McBurnie can give serious claim to being anywhere near a first team regular.

December began with a good 4-1 win over Buckie Thistle followed up with another 4-1 over Keith who did well to keep the score down playing by himself. Deveronvale had done us a favour the previous week by drawing with Formartine and they made us work extremely hard before succumbing to a 2-0 defeat. The month was rounded off by two disappointing draws against Fraserburgh and Wick Academy respectively. The draw with Fraserburgh particularly frustrating considering Cove Rangers beat Formartine.

Currently 7 points clears and on a 9 match unbeaten run.

January will be a trying month as my best players are pestering me about going to other clubs and the receivers won't let me stand in their way...

When bids come in just amend it to go through at the end of the season (or have a loan back in place)

Don't get that option.

All I get is: (Due to the club's poor financial state, all offers are being negotiated by their receivers)

My fears in the January transfer window were unfounded although I think that may be more to do with the players that other clubs had an interest in picking up injuries... A couple of fringe players left to join teams in lower divisions, nothing worth writing up tbh.

On the field things were good with 4 wins out of 4 including a 5-2 defeat of Cove Rangers which probably rules them out of contention for the Championship. The 2-1 win over Lossiemouth was hard fought and we were hanging on at the end.

Gap at the top now 13 points.

February began with a 2-0 home win over lowly Rothes which probably should have been more emphatic, we followed that up with a really poor performance against Stirling Uni losing 2-0 (As an aside Stirling Albion are in the Lowland League but the team they share with are in the same tier but classed as a different region...). We then beat Strathspey Thistle 3-2 away almost conspiring to throw away a 3 goal lead. We rounded the month off with a 3-2 win over Nairn County.

Lead at the top 12 points now although we have a game in hand. Could conceivably win the league within the next few games as Clachnacuddin, Formartine and Cove Rangers are cutting each other's throat...

March started with a frankly pathetic performance away to Forres Mechanics losing 2-1. We then won a close fought home match against Inverurie Locos 1-0.

Potentially we could win the league without kicking a ball but we need Forres to do what they did to us. I'm going to go back on what I previously said and try and twitch the Forres Mechanics v Clachnacuddin match within the next 10 minutes.

The next match was a pretty non descript 2-1 over Clach and that was followed up with a 5-2 home defeat of Formartine. We beat Buckie 3-1 away in our next league match before rounding the league season off with a 3-3 draw away to Deveronvale which pissed me off as we were 3-1 up going into the 90th minute but two injury time goals cost us. There were also wins in the Highland League Cup over Buckie, Huntly (after extra time) and Nairn County which meant we were in another final, would be nice to got our name engraved on another trophy but not overly bother if we don't win it.

Oh, this was encouraging news to receive before the Deveronvale game...

In the Highland/Lowland League play-off we were playing East Stirlingshire. We were the home team in the first leg so we were looking to build a solid platform for the second leg

Bugger. That's not good

So some home truths hammered into the players after that one. Could we turn things around?

Jack McMahon who was the villain in the first leg conceding the penalty getting us going in an absolute annihilation where we ended their 8 match unbeaten run in spectacular fashion.

I won't lie, I was tempted by this...

After deciding to reply to the media question with "No Comment" I opted against applying.

I hope this is resolved quickly tbh:

We also beat Cove Rangers in the Highland League Cup to take my trophy haul at Burntisland to 5 championships and 10 trophies.

Back to competitive business and our League 2 opponents...

First leg at The Haughs then and looking to put ourselves in a good position.

Disappointed it wasn't a win tbh but tees the second leg up nicely...

Further good news in that we are no longer in administration because the takeover has gone through, still not in a great position financially though.
