Let me enlighten a bit. I stopped by a gun show in Fort Worth today...1200 tables selling pistols, rifles, shotguns, knifes, foodstuffs, ammunition, sights. teeshirts and accessories.

Here's the panoramic view when you walk in:

FTWGuns.thumb.jpg.434193ba7cc22bf8f319997c033f6c0d.jpg

Here's just one vendor with a selection of semiautomatic pistols...there are around 15-20 vendors like this with a large range of pistols, revolvers, etc:

Pistolrow.thumb.jpg.ae51cbd37adf30335996e725b2bbfd57.jpg

Here's a trolly a gentleman was pullin behind him for his supplies:

Trollyofguns.thumb.jpg.0481646b564a6b2ed70e7d4aa7f4c769.jpg

And finally, this gentleman was selling his weapons:

So, some data:

-The guy with the weapons for sale can sell them to anyone without any kind of checks. Private sales aren't covered by any background check requirement.

-All the vendors selling firearms have to be FFL's (Federal Firearms Licensees), and have to conduct background checks. However, a holder of a valid LTC (Texas, or another state with reciprocal Licence To Carry) or CHL (another state with a reciprocal agreement with Texas) can bypass the wait.

-No background check to buy as much ammo as you desire, and no checks to purchase everything but the serialized portion of any weapon (in the U.S., one component of a gun is mandatorially serialized and controlled, the rest is free...for instance, on an AR-15, only the lower receiver is a controlled item. The lower receiver is the portion of the gun that mounts the trigger and the magazine well...and is one of about 120 parts that are used to make an AR-15).

-Entering the show, all weapons are inspected and have a ziptie installed to prevent the operation of the weapon...its a pretty weak deterent.

Having a nazi flag on display as soon as you walk in must really make you think about what kind of morons have access to such a large amounts of weapons.

@TxRover were you not taking a risk photographing these mad cnuts?

It is absolutely incredible that country has not had a full blown civil war during the last ten years.

They send out Christmas cards of the whole family brandishing weaponry like most families brandish crackers and Santa hats.

They aren't going to care about anybody taking pictures of them with their supply of "tools". If anything, they'd be thrilled by the attention. There's nothing covert about any of this.

The Nazi and German flags were on tables of curio dealers. They specialize in buying more than selling these events, as they know there are plenty of families who had grandpa Hank who brought home a lugar and some flags. That being  said, the neo-nazi contingent do shop at gun shows, but more so with the guys you see with weapons for sale privately. A pretty decent percentage of the white supremacist/neo-nazi crowd have criminal convictions that prevent them from legally owning firearms. As such, the private sellers at gun shows are popular sources for their weapons, because there are no background checks…in a similar manner, private sales via Craigslist and such are also popular with the skinheads.

I’d say the gun show crowds break down about like this:

0-5% excited and barely legal (to buy guns, not drink) youth, skewed 90/10 male.

40-50% hunters.

20-30% recreational shooters.

10-20% adults who plan to or do carry a pistol/revolver and need a weapon, ammo, supplies, equipment.

5-10% adults looking for some item comarketed (knives, jerky, tools, collectibles, gold/silver)

0-5% felons looking to purchase weapons illegally.

0-5% gun owners looking to sell weapons privately.

0-5% people there to gawk at the show.

Here’s some numbers:

94,500 sq/ft of floor space available, cost to rent for the weekend show is around $15,000 to $20,000.

1,200 tables available for rental at the show, $90 per table…that’s $108,000 to the people putting on the show.

Admission to gun show, $10 (cash only)…that’s a pretty huge amount, I’d estimate attendance in the 2,000-4,000 paying customer range…call that another $20,000-$40,000. Kids under 12 and law officers are free, military are heavily discounted or free.

You have to hire security, staff to control entry/setup, and the tables, that’ll take a good little percentage of the money, but it’s still a money spinner.

The mayor specifically requests “prayers”, no word on if thoughts are need too.

It's just not possible to think of all the dead and maimed anymore, while you can still get away with a single general prayer for "all the people who died today because there's not enough Jesus in schools".

Police have also, accidentally, shot a toddler in the head who hasn't died. Maybe Americans are becoming bullet proof.

Also tossed a flash-bang into a baby’s play pen, severely burning said baby.

i’m just waiting for one of our morons, sorry, Legislators to announce all this is happened because they failed to pass a law mandating the Ten Commandments be posted in every classroom, in letters large enough to be read by any people with normal vision in the classroom. Best question at a recent hearing on a similar proposal, which version of the Ten Commandments ? The chaos that question produced was magnificent.

I’m holding out for someone to introduce the 8 “I’d Really Rather You Didn’ts” from the Australian Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

1. I’d really rather you didn’t act like a sanctimonious, holier-than-thou ass when describing my Noodly Goodness. If some people don’t believe in me, that’s okay. Really, I’m not that vain. Besides, this isn’t about them so don’t change the subject.

2. I’d really rather you didn’t use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don’t require sacrifices and purity is for drinking water, not people.

3. I’d really rather you didn’t judge people for the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they talk, or, well, just play nice, okay? Oh, and get this in your thick heads: woman = person. Man = person. Samey-samey. One is not better than the other, unless we’re talking about fashion and I’m sorry, but I gave that to women and some guys who know the difference between teal and fuchsia.

4. I’d really rather you didn’t indulge in conduct that offends yourself, or your willing, consenting partner of legal age and mental maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is go f*** yourself, unless they find that offensive in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk for a change.

5. I’d really rather you didn’t challenge the bigoted, misogynist, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat, then go after the b******.

6. I’d really rather you didn’t build multimillion-dollar churches / temples / mosques / shrines to my Noodly Goodness when the money could be better spent (take your pick):
a. Ending poverty
b. Curing diseases
c. Living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable
I might be a complex-carbohydrate omniscient being, but I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I am the creator.

7. I’d really rather you didn’t go around telling people I talk to you. You’re not that interesting. Get over yourself. And I told you to love your fellow man, can’t you take a hint?

8. I’d really rather you didn’t do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are into, um, stuff that uses a lot of leather / lubricant / lass Vegas. If the other person is into it, however (pursuant to #4), then have at it, take pictures, and for the love of mike, wear a condom! Honestly, it’s a piece of rubber. If I didn’t want it to feel good when you did it I would have added spikes, or something.

In response, the NRA start campaigning to legalise rocket launchers for home defense purposes.

(this is when someone points out that they've been doing that already)

In 2017 colt made some for civilian use, simply side stepping the ban on 40mm grenade launchers by making theirs 37mm. It doesn't say if you can get a 37mm grenade but I'm sure you could find someone to make you one.

HELL YEH. USA USA USA.

Outrageous. Don't they realise that explosives can damage property?

A landlord could end up out of pocket if this was to catch on.

You're in danger of making me want to join the NRA - UK branch.

No “explosive” rounds in the way you intend it, just fancy fireworks and flash-bangs…but, here’s your reloading kit…

You’ll have to use aluminium cases, at least, but I know a couple of lads that can knock up an explosive load, on the sly…

Initial gunman/shooter already facing a raft of charges,
