The Terrible Journalism & Tom English Thread

Recommended Posts

Sunday Herald has an article on James McArthur and a photo of him apparently rallying his team mates yesterday. Only thing is, the strip he's wearing is the one from the last campaign.

Plus they give the crowd from Wembley and not the crowd from Hampden and don't list the QoS-Linfield game in today's fixtures. Useless paper for fitba.

BT Sport pundit (some English twat) : "He was trying get his body between himself and the defender" Eh?

Surely engaging in such sorcery should be a yellow card offence? Time to clamp down IMO.

Derek Johnstone the other night on Radio Clyde was talking about Gamboa's poor performance against Real Madrid.

I couldn't work out what game he was referring to, then realised he meant Barcelona. Fair enough. Slip of the tongue. It happens.

But then he started it again. ".....in the Bernabeu."

Surprised no-one else on the show thought to tell him that by the way mate it was Barca not Real you thick clown.

If he was sitting in a Radio Clyde studio though, he'd have been surrounded by other thick clowns.

Is that the sort of rot that passes for a Herald article these days, or was it at least confined to the Evening Times?

Who was the summariser during the Morton-Aberdeen radio coverage who said it should have been in Perth as a 16,000 crowd would have fitted nicely in to McDiarmid Park?

Not only that, but he said "a neutral venue like McDiarmid". Have Morton started playing their home games at Hampden? Not sure why he picked McDiarmid anyway. More difficult for Morton fans to get to than say, Edinburgh, and for Aberdeen fans its just as easy to get to Edinburgh as it is Perth, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind the extra half hour journey time if it meant all that wanted to go got tickets.
