Premiership Fantasy Fitba 2015/16

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

Following on from the success of the Fantasy Football competitions I have run for the past two seasons, I am delighted to introduce the 2015/16 version. This year's competition will be run in a similar fashion as last season's game with it being hosted on the Fantastar website.

Having used it for the entirety of last season, I can say that it is an excellent resource for me to run a fantasy football competition game in terms of how long it takes me to update.

There are no massive changes to the way the game is run and for the third consecutive year the game remains free to enter for anyone who wishes to play.

There is no prize for this game. It is done for fun and enjoyment and to fill a gap in the lack of Fantasy Football games there are for Scottish Football.

Scoring:

The scoring system will remain the same for 2015/16 as it was for last season. For a reminder it is listed in the following spoiler:

All players score:
2 points for an appearance(starting or substitute)
2 points for an assist
-3 points for a yellow card
-6 points for a red card
5 points for every man of the match(see note below)*

A Goalkeeper will score:
5 points for a goal scored
6 points for a clean sheet*
-1 point for every goal conceded

A defender will score:
5 points for a goal scored
3 points for a clean sheet*
-1 point for every goal conceded

A midfielder will score:
4 points for a goal scored

A striker will score:
3 points for a goal scored

Man of the match points have not been finalised for the game yet, as this award is subjective.

Defenders must be on the pitch for 30 minutes(excluding any injury time) to qualify for a clean sheet bonus.

Transfers:

Players who played last years game will remember that there were 40 transfers to use through the season, which essentially equates to 1 per gameweek with 2 "jokers" for use through the season. There is no limit as to how many transfers you can use at one time, it is up to each player's discretion, but if you use all 40 by Christmas, you will NOT get any more to see you through to the end of the season.

Transfers need to be made before midnight on the day before a game - so Friday midnight for a game played on a Saturday.

Picking a Team:

One formation to choose from 4-4-2

You have a transfer budget of 40 stars to assemble your squad. When you click the link for the website(located at the end of the post), you will see that each player has been given a star value between 1 and 5. You have 40 stars available to spend on players. You are able to pick a maximum of 3 players from each SPFL Premiership team.

After the fixtures on 29th/30th August, I shall be switching on automatic Player Star Rating meaning that the stats engine that calculates scores, will automatically change the stars for players week-on-week dependent on the points they have scored and their form.

Notes:

Mini leagues. You can create mini league's on the website allowing you to compete against friends and workmates in your own private battle.

Mini Leagues:

Dundee: 1293-5FAB13FE6C3D

Kilmarnock: 1294-66B400E234B4

If there are any players for your team that I have missed and should be available for selection then simply suggest them on this thread and I'll update the game.

The valuations are made based on last years score. Where someone had a poor season they could be able to be acquired as a bargain.

There will be weekly automated E-Mail bulletins sent out when the scores are run through. To switch these off go to the team selection screen, team details and uncheck the box.

There is apparently a limit of 200 players in this Fantasy Football league, but last year we got 300+ playing so hopefully the same happens again.

Only league games are eligible for points. Cup games do NOT count.

Players can only score points for the club they are playing for. Therefore should Kris Doolan go on loan to Kilmarnock and start scoring goals, only people who had the Kris Doolan from the Kilmarnock team will score points. The players with Kris Doolan from the Partick Thistle team would not.

Players who played last year should be able to use the same log in details as last year. You'll need to "join a new league" to get access to this seasons competition.

The link to this years game is:http://www.fantastar.com/General/uageLeagueSummaryPage.aspx?strLeaguePassword=002301Scottic1dde9

The password is: 002301Scottic1dde9

If you have any problems registering or any other questions simply pop them in here and I'll do my best to answer them. If you can register no problem then that'd also be nice to know!

If the link expires then simply do the following:

On the session expired page just click the 'Click here to login again.' create an account and then put in the code and that'll be you sorted.

Good Luck

I've battered 2 teams in - made a mini league for Dundee fans as well* - Mini league ID is 1293-5FAB13FE6C3D

if that's not allowed OP then let me know - could maybe add mini league ID to the OP if your ok with it?

That's the maximum number of transfers I can give managers through a season. I had enquired about making a fully customised game that would allow the rules I wanted for the season, but when I was quoted £4.5K I decided it was fine the way it was!

I'd prefer to keep it one team to one person at the moment so that it maximises the number of players. As far as I'm aware there is no "proper" limit, but I'd feel bad if people missed out.

Who actually adds up the points for this or do we have to keep track ourselves

I insert the scores and update everything. it's a pretty simple job that I can now do in under half an hour per week, long gone are the days of spending hours on it. The great thing about the Fantastar set up is that if I forget to add scores until the Wednesday, then it gives points based on what the team was then, rather than people firing in a couple of sneaky transfers.

The link in the OP doesn't seem to be working now!

I've included instructions for that in the original post.
