peasy23
Saw this on Twitter last night.I think long term 2016 was bad for his health, the schedule he played to get to the number one spot was horrendous.
ajwffc
will finish the year playing in the Davis cup in November. Dan Evans, Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski have also been named in the team with Cameron Norrie or Kyle Edmund geting the last spot on the team

peasy23
This came up as my Facebook memory this morning, IIRC he had beat Robredo twice in a week in fairly epic matches. [emoji23]

I keep that picture on my phone and call the double middle finger salute The Robredo. They'd faced each other in two finals within a month (Vienna Open was in between) with Robredo having multiple match points in both. Robredo must have thought he needed to kill Andy Murray to beat him. Thanks for triggering that memory.
peasy23
So either Federer or Djokovic will bow out at the group stage at the tour finals after Theim beat both of them in his first two games to book his spot in the semis with a match to spare.
peasy23
Nadal should be out, but Medvedev shat the bed from 4-0 and 5-1 up in the 3rd set to lose it on a tie break.

peasy23
So the last 4 at the tour finals is Zverev v Thiem and Federer v Tsitsipas. Is it just a temporary blip or is it a sign that the powers of the big 3 might just be starting to wane?
Ira Gaines
I don't watch a lot of tennis but I'm absolutely loving this final so far.
lichtie23
Andy won his Davis Cup rubber in 3 sets earlier. Dan Evans then lose his. Good news tho that Jamie Murray and Skupski are a set up in the deciding doubles rubber. I quite like this new format

lichtie23
Any reason Andy isn’t playing?
peasy23
Any reason Andy isn’t playing? Think Smith is being realistic enough to realise that he can't flog Andy by playing him every day, and that he is confident that the doubles can win their games, so only needs one win from singles. Evans wins the third set tiebreak to put GB into the semis with a 2-0 win over Germany. Edit: it's either Spain or Argentina in the semi final, they are tied at 1-1 after the singles with the deciding doubles match due to start soon.
