Only met twice, mind, but Murray's record on the surface is pretty outstanding. 84% win rate, 85% at Wimbledon, 2 slams, 1 slam runner-up, 1 Olympics and 5 wins at Queens, plus 2 singles and a doubles win in a Davis Cup semi final. Another closely connected stat is that 9 of his 46 singles titles have been won in London - those grass titles, plus the ATP Final. Unfortunately not true. Federer defeated him 7-6 7-6 6-4 in the 2007 US open final (Djokovic's first major final) and Rafa beat him 6-0 6-2 7-5 at Roland Garros last year.

Donathan
What is true though is that Murray is the only man outside of the big 3 to have beaten any of them in straight sets in a Grand Slam final. And he did it twice if you count the Olympics.

Loki
That’s two cracking wins for Draper. Fully deserves his wild card for Wimbledon. Andy Murray also confirmed as a wild card recipient. Venus Williams gets one on the women’s side.
die hard doonhamer
Quite impressed with Draper there, played some lovely shots. Kept his head well at the end after losing his serve while trying to close it out, and then his opponent having a bit of a heads gone.

GiGi
Berrettini serving masterclass here. Every other serve is a 140 odd mph bullet on the lines. Edited June 17, 2021 by GiGi

A few loose shots from Murray, looking fine physically, needs matches to get the sharpness up.

His serve has slowed down. It's hard to see him being competitive in a Wimbledon 5-setter against a top 20 player.

Loki
Berretini was pretty good, his last grass season he won Stuttgart, made the semi final in Halle and lost to Federer at Wimbledon. So he certainly knows how to play. His serve was at a level even peak Murray would have struggled with. If he wants to get more games he should take a wild card into Eastbourne. His level currently looks about top 20-50, he will need a lot of help in the Wimbledon draw if he is to do some damage there.

Murray's not strong and fit enough to get into the top 50. He would be lucky to get in the top 50-100 on current form. Djokovic and anyone in the top 20. would tear him to bits in straight sets.

Goffin, Monfils, Ruud, Schwarzman, Busta are all in the top 20 and Murray would have his chances against them on grass. There’s plenty of players in the top 50 he would beat. If he was to remain healthy he’d make it to the top 50 within the year. But I don’t think he can stay healthy, so we might not see much more from him.
Lex
Murray’s been in the same cycle of injury > come back > lose to a few jobbers > injury for years now.The only thing that will break that cycle is his retirement.
Shipa
I think Murray's head is still very much up for the game, but his body hasn't been for some time. He needs to realise this, as the constant coming back/ dropping out will become an embarassment. The fact that he has a good head for the game should make him a good coach, but he needs to accept that his days of playing at the top level are done, not an easy thing to do, but he has to do it.
