Never mind this dirt game getting played in France currently.  The grass court season starts on Monday, and Andy Murray has entered Surbirton and is drawn to play Jurij Rodionov.  He prefers grass reached a junior doubles final at Wimbledon and also his only ATP semi final came on grass.

I really love it when a player drops down to the challenger circuit as you get to see so many differing game styles and strategies that it can actually be more difficult for the seasoned pro.

It's on BBC apparently, probably red button or iplayer.

I was at that dirt game played in France currently yesterday, and it's not that bad!

Had day tickets for Chatrier. Was a shame (but not a surprise) the stadium was mostly empty for the two women's matches, but good to see Leyla Fernandez and Coco Gauff in person.  Both very impressive.

The stadium obviously filled out for the Nadal - Auger-Aliassime match which was excellent fun. A few very partisan folk cheering for the Canadian made it more entertaining.

Also got to see some doubles before it all got going on the main courts. A great day all round.

This has got another hour or so in it at least I think. Be around 1am French time before it finishes FS [emoji28]
Fascinating watch though. Winner of this wins the title IMO.

It's comical how far in Djokovic's corner McEnroe is. Slightly ruining the experience for me here.

Mental it's taken nearly 3.5 hours to get this far into the match. Some ridiculous stuff being played.

I love how everyone still falls for the Nadal is half dead possum routine.  Just takes all the pressure of himself and he just gradually plays himself in to contention.

The whole night session narrative that would favour Djokovic, and Nadal wasn’t even favourite at the bookies.  Perfect.  Everyone forgot Nadal handed out a lesson the last time conditions were similar. Apart from an absolute wobble from Nadal and red lining from Novak in that second set, it was a really good display.

Their collective powers are nowhere near the level of 2009-2016 , but they are still better than anyone else.

On the Women’s side Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek just look like they will face off in the final.  Coco Gauff won the Junior title four years ago whilst Swiatek was beaten in the semi final.

Murray wins in two tight sets today 7-6 7-6, after two days of rain delays the court was extra zippier today.

On the women’s side there was no shocks as both Gauff and Swiatek sweeped through their semi finals.  Coco is the youngest slam finalist since Maria Sharapova.  Really looking forward to that final.  Swiatek will equal Serena’s 35 matches in a row with victory.

Murray one in straight sets today.  Will face Kudla tomorrow.

This match is an utter mess.  Low quality, misss galore, but yet still pretty exciting.
