What Stadiums Have You Visited

Sweet Pete

Recommended Posts

I've done all the Scottish league grounds with the exception of Annan and Berwick, been to Brora and Spartans too, along with most of the north and east region junior sides.

In England, I've done Stamford Bridge, The Emirates, Stadium Of Light, St James', Loftus Road, The Reebok/Macron, and Turf Moor for football, along with Wembley, The Etihad and The London Stadium for gigs.

I know Rab B Nesbit and Jim Kidd and I can confirm they both have a missus.

I was at Peterheid on Saturday which completed all the Scottish 41 for me although I was at their old ground for a Caley game.

It's a bit boring listing them all so I'll just mention the interesting ones.

SPFL - 41 plus Muirton, Love St, Boghead, Kilbowie, Douglas Park, Brockville, Broomfield, Bayview, Annfield, Shawfield, Firs Park.

East Juniors - 31 40 including demolished grounds at Penicuik, Nitten, Bankfoot.

West Juniors - 22 27 including Baillieston Benburb Peasie.

SLFL - All 16 plus City Park and Ettrick Park, Selkirk

EOSL & SOSL - 16

SHFL - 15 17 including Telford St, Kingsmills, Recreation Park Peterhead.

Islands (Lewis, Shetland, Orkney) - 11

England - 23 26 including Roker, Old Wembley and Highfield Rd.

Spain - CD Tenerife and Barca.

Wales - Wrexham and Cardiff (Ninian Park)

Switzerland - Allmend (Luzern, demolished)

France - Bayeux

N.I. - Linfield, Ards (Castlereagh), Ballinamallard, Glentoran

Canada - Kitchener Centennial

Romania - Astra Giurgiu

Netherlands - de Kuip

Iceland - Stjarnan, IBV, KR

Faroes - HB, Toftir, Fuglafjordur, Argir

Also some baseball stadiums which are magnificent but don't count, and many many stadiums where I've sneaked in or blagged in for a photo but no game. Visits to places like Amsterdam ArenA, Allianz, old San Mames and new Wembley.

All in all just about 200 where I've actually seen a game.

Updated to around 220

For Scottish League grounds it's easier listing those I've not been to.

Premiership

Hamilton (at NDP), Killie & St Mirren (at new St Mirren Park

Championship) ICT

In addition to the league grounds I have been to, I've also been to Highland League matches in the 90s at:

Inverness, (Clach, Caley and Thistle), Ross Co, Huntly, Keith, Nairn, Brora, Rothes, Forres and Elgin

Matches in England at:

Wembley, Emirates, Anfield, Stadium of Light, Charlton and Carrow Road

further afield:

Dublin (Aviva Stadium), Rio (Maracana), Paris (Parc du Princes), Lanzarote (Ciudad Deportiva), Malta, Perugia and Lithuania

I've also been to a fair smattering of Junior grounds in Fife, Dundee, Perth and Aberdeen (including recent additions at Linlithgow Rose and Formartine - both attended in 2016)

Abroad the only ground I have been is St Malo. Not sure if they are professional.

Edit:

Added four new grounds: Hednesford, Shrewsbury, Bristol City and Barnsley.

Planning on adding Brentford, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Millwall and Peterhead which would take me to 74, possibly more depending on cup games/non-league days out.

  • 3 weeks later...

Been to Crawley v Bristol Rovers and Gillingham v Brackley town in the FA Cup on the same day and Stevenage v Yeovil Town in the league in the last three weeks and am also seriously considering a midweek trip to Mansfield Town on Tuesday night when they play Blackpool.

Mansfield will be my 11th new English and Scottish league ground this season and take me to 114 out of the 134. The visit to Mansfield will also mean that Ayr United is the nearest ground to my home in the English and Scottish Leagues that I have yet to visit.

Still got another 4 planned this season on top of that. Its a marathon not a sprint...
