Clyde v Stirling Albion

Recommended Posts

I also support Gateshead FC by the way, who play in a soulless athletics stadium with limited atmosphere and small crowds (circa 800 to 1200 at the moment), but it's a very friendly place. It's not about the location, it's about the people and my impression of Clyde was awful.

Me too, I live a 5 minute walk from Gateshead Stadium 8) Gateshead remind me of Clyde a lot actually, from the soulless (council owned) pit of despair that they play in, the similar fan base (relatively speaking) and even the team colours to an extent.

One day I hope to live somewhere with maybe a more inspirational football team to watch. One day...

Its hardly Scotland Yard, but yes of course I would.

Your observations are welcome, very refreshing to hear someone speak out who can't be accused of anything other than trying to enjoy his football. I won't bore you with a history lesson, but basically no one at our club us anything like a fucking team player. Players, officials, every one of the b*****ds is in it for themselves. Not financially, i hasten to add, as there's no money to be had. More to do with self-preservation. The points you make (delegating ONE additional seller) woud thus be seen as a slant on those in the vaunted Club Shop not maximising everything through their till. You're right, Rover. And don't let the buggers tell you different.

as said good to get input to Clyde 's match day experience sadly as you found out there isn't one

the usual suspects will come on here telling us the board are doing a great job and there is no one else to do it

we have a board of directors hanging on like some some small nation's despot, peddling propoganda through their chums in the support informing us everything is fine and every couple of years bring a plan to lead us to a new era of stadium ownership and promotion , while in the background supressing any useful info getting to fans

self preservation at all costs that's the club motto

Can I ask what the structure in the far corner on the left is? Our guess was that it was for the Colts.

It's for Scottish Rugby, they have an academy based at Broadwood.

I'd love to see what goes on at our training during the week. Our game plan seems to be hoofing the ball up to Gormley who backs into defenders. I expect Brisbane to be fined a couple of weeks wages and dropped for having the cheek to go on a couple of runs past some Stirling players with the ball at his feet.

Club shop is on the left hand side of the main stand where programmes are always available.

Roker Rover's trying to help you along with a fresh pair of eyes and you fire up the defence shields. I've been to Broadwood (is it actually still called that?) loads of times and never realised where the club shop is? Is it the place at the bottom left as you look at the stand? If it is, I thought it was part of the fives pitches, changing rooms etc as there's nearly always some group of guys gathered inside with their strips on. And it's got some office rooms in there as well. Not really a shop. I was at Annan yesterday; they had two of their youth players in club tracksuit right inside the gate offering programmes. Simples!

The visiting fans' half-time area has been changed into a gym and visitors now have to walk down between the two stands, potentially in the rain, to a rip-off van that doesn't even sell pies. Is that down to Clyde though or the Colts? As well as all the other issues Clyde have had to deal with there's now a tribalism between two teams/clubs that provokes an added pressure.

I think to be fair RR you're drawing comparisons between a very rural club and another in the heart of the central belt. Generally, the further you travel from the cities the more polite and courteous people will be and certainly more open to strangers. At Annan yesterday you couldn't have found more pleasant and welcoming people and they were all clearly connected to the club and their town. Clyde's opponents yesterday, from a semi-rural area, also play in a council run stadium which is spartan on match days but again what staff they have are not hired-in and welcome you like a friend. By contrast, my club is also burdened by contracted stewards and caterers and whilst some are cheery enough, they're not QP supporters.

CFUK : Lets be honest , I recall you giving maitland pesters when we were strolling the league so not sure your best judge of character on a board

who have publicly asked for help to raise funds with little no response other than the usual snipers ....

For the record I never said board were doing a great job (Didn't say they weren't either) but did say on other thread no-one else offering to do job nor would imagine their are a Q of businessmen want to invest in a club that doesn't own anything ....

Get off your arse and sell 50/50s . Car parking tickets. Lottery tickets, Run away supporters buses or sell merchandise in car park when it's pushing down, If you want any advice give me a shout I've got plenty experience to name just a few, Doesn't make me anything special but by f**k reading same drivel on here doesn't help

I used to sell 50/50 tickets and was threatened with ejection by stewards on a regular basis if i entered the away end to sell them. That's what we are up against.

If you knew Clyde's relationships with Broadwood then you would understand but you clearly don't.

tell you what I will run an away bus to some game that will make a real fan

Anybody know what's up wi chukky not in squad?and why not play him and marsh at the back rather than the cast of last of the summer wine. Its a pain to see a lot of bf rejects all doing well at their respective clubs scoring goals etc and I know we shouldn't look backwards but why does he seem to have the knack of destroying any confidence and gets no extra yardage out of anybody in that dressing room time to look in the mirror Barry. Great player not ready yet for management imo

Neither do I till now , You were having the dig I replied , Like it or lump it

that's the problem we don't have people willing to volunteer anymore it's only an opinion but things like the name change telling cumbernauld we were leaving didn't help what would I like to see ? the club actively looking to sell to a group of business men I know the dangers that it could fall into the wrong hands but seriously do you really think we can progress under the structure we have at present We are all from the Clyde family and like all families we fall out with each other but at the end of the day we just want the club to prosper only an opinion

I've publicly admitted I'm not in favour of changing manager every two or three seasons or less but I'm starting to on wonder if it's suits both parties

Genuine believe BF puts in his own cash , More time than club expect and is a good role model for new signings etc but it's a results driven game as we all know

Never wanted a Clyde manager to work out as much as BF but just don't know anymore

Cmon lads , Get yourselves together , Air your issues and gets us winning - I hate weekends when we lose !!!!

I have backed ferguson from start still think he can do it but this is his real test now these are all his players who I think have let him down certainly in the last to home games

he does seem to have a problem turning results around without having a clear out its hard to say from the outside how moral is in the dressing room A win in the cup could revitalise our confidence so let's get a good cup victory

To be fair, i said largely what CfcUk said first....but we've at least three hours to discuss that next week!! People laughed when two of our own (make that three....) decided they'd had enough and arranged meetings with board members. We've covered every angle.....i had to point out to the fucking chairman that we still had enough people left who could and would afford a weekend of help here and there to get things at a new venue done on time (sparks joiners welders labourers.....).....NOTHING. I proposed a CiC membership scheme through season ticket sales, had fucking Mrs Aggro (business development manager) throwing around numbers and even concessions for those wonderfully loyal worldwide fanbase of ours which if she suggested to a client and they knocked it back, she'd withdraw funding from her own customers; NOTHING. A matchday presentation was discussed, the downbeat attitude from the top down, lack of even minimal involvement or open-arms policy inviting anyone to support the club (as witnessed now by this Sunderland geezer)..NOTHING.....these aren't things which cost. Its basics. What time is being afforded to anything is really not working at all.

It's pretty depressing to read things like that which are being ignored by the club.
