Mr Rational
Did anyone watch it? I quite like the books, easy reading holiday historical stuff, Cornwell has it down to a T.
DA Baracus
Aye I caught it. Love shows like this as I have a big interest in vikings. There were the obvious lazy comparisons to Vikings and Game of Thrones but it managed to be tonally different to both and have it's own identidy and pace. Like how it blends historical characters in to the story. Anyway, good start and looking forward to it developing.
Scary Bear
Yes, it was good. I'll probably watch the next one.
Ranaldo Bairn
Agreed. Enjoyed it very much. Helps I was on holiday in Bamburgh last year, and read a lot about the history of the Kingdom of Northumbria, like "The King In the North" by Max Adams, which is excellent.

bennett
Watched 5 then found 6 on YouTube as I'm an impatient kind of kunt. A slow start but really coming into it now, there's plenty of books to copy so hopefully this runs for a while and becomes the new Sharpe.
DA Baracus
Ubbe getting his achilles slashed was brutal. Uthred and that other boy's crawl of shame was amusing. Uthred's fat servant lad shagging that lass in Uthred's bed
The_Kincardine
Started well but has become dull and prosaic Wifey TV with the wee Odda as the pantomime villain.
