Thought the crowd was poor to be honest. Not much more than 1000 Ayr fans. Despite being top of the league they've been poorly supported all season. Our travelling support wasn't great either but expect a lot more for the league game.

Game not covered by season ticket plus awful weather and a lot of fans from both sides seeing League game as more important probably affected crowd

Who was it in the dugout that the Pars players mobbed when they scored?

Is it not that brave soldier who had to have his leg amputated after the Ayr thugs set about him?

A good win. Was fully expecting a replay but happy to see the team grind one out for a change.

Very confused to see so many posts about how Ayr fans aren't raging, which are posted after pages and pages of Ayr fans crying about poor decisions and bad weather. Apparently we're also "there for the taking" after keeping a seventh clean sheet in our last nine matches...

The fact that Murdoch was your best player on the day should explain why you were there for the taking.

Oh, dear....she's an dizzy one! The weather was terrible, might've had a bearing on the attendance? Ayr were 3/1 to win the game....doesn't that tell you something? Possibly that Pars were favourites hence Ayr not expected to go through? Might be stating the obvious, but I suspect you're on the spectrum.

Your own assessment that it was "a good win" ground out says it wasn't the stroll you imagined. That's it...Dunfermline edged a game we didn't really expect to win. Big deal. The odds might be closer for the league game but the general feeling is that Ayr are doing far better this season than was anticipated but Dunfermline are still nailed on to win the league.

If you want a bit rage or seethe, check oot the 20+ pages on the 0-2 game and the embarrassing response from the Fife beggars!!! Boo-hoo!!!

I always find this type of post strange.

A keeper doing what he's paid to do and has been week in, week out and producing a series of fine saves shouldn't make him automatically our best player...does that mean that, since your keeper let one past him that he was your worst?

Welcome to how the Pars are currently....very, very hard to beat.. Looking forward to the league game.

Also strange is the Ayr support using the "we've a few players out..wait till most are back in two weeks time"..Teams will always have injuries and suspensions...we had them a few weeks ago and are still missing two of our starting back four long term...That's what squads are for...I'd just be worried what happens if your loan strikers deals aren't renewed in the new year ;-)

It didn't automatically make him the best Dunfermline player. The fact that his performance was the best out of everyone on the park did.

The inability to offer an alternative player speaks volumes tbh.

Murdoch has been putting in that sort of performance for us for weeks now...it's our keepers normal performance these days...There was nothing "special" about it ;-)

I thought Geggan was our best player on Saturday and is slowly returning to fine form for us...Also think Michael Paton does a ton of work for us that goes

un-noticed until he doesn't play...

Murdoch has conceded one league goal in the last near 700 minutes....Saturday was no different mate...

They were pretty routine saves tbh. You'd expect any 'keeper at this level to make them.

That one in the second half where he had to scramble across to his right was a brilliant piece of goalkeeping, we wouldn't have had Murdoch to blame had it gone in.

Disagree with the "shows how the game went" patter just because he made some great saves. He had a great game, aye, but he was one of a few decent performers for us on Saturday, and the fact that he made good and important saves doesn't mean Ayr were well on top or anything like that; in fact, you'll struggle to find a more balanced game.
