I'll leave it on the window sill for a full day, within an hour or two of wearing it, it's flashing low. Anybody use a LED charger for these? Artificial light doesn't seem to charge it at all. See above , mate . Leave it hanging over a lamp and artificial light will fully charge it. Hung mine by the buckle inside the shade , two hours later it was full , light up by wrist flick working too. Hanging it face down over the bulb seems to have given it a better charge than I've managed since the summer. Cheers [emoji106]
lichtgilphead
After seeing Vostok watches referenced on this thread, I asked for a Amphibia Scuba Dude model on a Nato strap for my birthday. Absolutely delighted with it so far, so much that I've ordered another one... Watch on order below, watch currently on wrist at bottom Edited December 20, 2020 by lichtgilphead
Bigmouth Strikes Again
Nato's are great, you can change the whole look of the watch instantly, plus if a spring bar fails the watch stays on the wrist. eta. Vostok watches are nice but I don't get the popularity of NATO straps. I mean they're just fabric right? CountyFan
Received a lovely Citizen eco-drive from my old man for christmas. Or rather, he sent me cash and told me to treat myself. So that's what I have gone for. Is it easy enough to remove bracelet links or should I be taking it to timpsons etc? Got it online so couldn't ask the shop to do it.

Aidan
The big four-zero for me yesterday... Amongst other things, a new G-Shock for everyday work wear. Similar to mine. Not normally the type of watch I'd wear with my skinny wrists but it's fine for work and general fucking about. Picked it up at a decent price in the Black Friday sales.

saint dave
Bit if a story behind this one. Ordered red and black version in the sale for £225 on 31 December using Xmas cash , showed up as delivery on the 6th January. On delivery day received an email to say the order was cancelled due to being out of stock. Called the helpline and asked if I could have the green version instead ( was chancing my arm that version never goes beyond the 25% off) was told they couldn't do that , just the 25% off deal they were doing online. Left a review on trustpilot then got a reply asking to contact them , then they agreed to give me the green one for the same amount , so happy with that.
lichtgilphead
My grandfather's old formal watch (1960's Gruen Precision Autowind) was still running perfectly, but the time adjustment function (with the crown pulled out to the 2nd position) stopped working a couple of years ago. I had taken it into a Glasgow specialist watch repairer, who told me that there was "no value" in repairing it. Personally, the watch has sentimental value to me, so money wasn;t really a deciding factor, but they just didn't seem interested in even providing me with a quote. However, I discovered a local watch repairer last week, who said they would quote to repair any vintage watch - assuming they could source parts. I sent both the Gruen & my grandmother's cocktail watch (which still runs, but doesn't keep time) for a quote and was delighted and surprsed by the repair/service costs given. I'll update when I get the watches back, but I'm absolutely delighted that I'm hopefully getting the Gruen back into full working order
glasgow_bairn
Decided to treat myself to the Oris Aquis With titanium bracelet 4-5 weeks ago.Iv admired this watch for a while and after a bit of a shit year in my personal life I decided to bite the bullet and treat myself. An absolutely beautiful fusion of modern and vintage style.
