Honest_Man#1
Out of curiosity who says tea when it's an evening meal And who says dinner for an evening meal. I've always said lunch and dinner and not dinner and tea. I thought people who said tea for an evening meal was an English thing. I just thought it was a yokel thing. THE KING
Evening meal is tea. Dinner is your midday/afternoon meal. If your lower class you probably call your evening meal Tea, your betters like myself refer to it as Dinner.
throbber
I have always called my main 6 o clock meal dinner, worked with a few guys who called it their dinner during 1 o clock break but thats fucking lunch! Whats wrong with people?
JohnJohn
I would tend to drink water with any meal in the house, maybe a fruit juice with breakfast. I don't like lager with my meal it just doesn't go well and not a wine drinker. If i'm out I may have a soda water with lime so I don't like I only have enough for food and not drink by just asking for tap water.
Mortar Bored
I'll have a Sauvignon Blanc or Chablis with a light lunch. Normally a merlot or burgundy with my evening meal. Obviously, Frosty Jacks is a breakfast drink....

ICTJohnboy
I recall one occasion whilst entertaining a nice young lady she insisted that I 'break stride' to allow her to take a drink of coke. I likened it to an F1 pit stop. You surely weren't all that entertaining. I would have told her just to wait - I'll only be a couple of minutes - maybe even less if you'll just shut the f**k up. throbber
I prefer wine to beer nowadays and don't like it when Mrs Throbber asks for a glass or 2 out of my bottle because i can easily drink a bottle myself.

RedRob72
Glass of wine with evening meal Red/White depends on what's being served up. A draft or bottled beer with an Indian every time, it's the law isn't it?

Ira Gaines
If I'm going to a gig and getting something to eat in Glasgow beforehand, I'll probably go to a Wetherspoon's for dinner and have a pint. Other than that, nah.

Tamdunk
A nice wine with a meal really compliments it. Beer goes well with things like pizza, burger, steak pie. When I'm not drinking I'll usually just have water with food.
