Can't see past another heavy defeat. City are nothing like as good as Barca, but Aguero and Silva against that defence should still see them score 3 or 4.

At the same time, City aren't particularly solid at the back either. 2-4 is my prediction.

3rd best defensive record in the EPL having conceded 5 goals, and 4 without reply in the CL opening game puts that theory to bed.

Got the 6 goal total correct... City are much worse at the back than I reckoned.

Tremendous performance and result for Celtic. They were hanging on a bit in the end but fully deserved the point they got. Dembele looks like an excellent striker when he is in the mood, and Toure at the back was absolutely immense. If they can put in a similar level of performance at home to Mönchengladbach then they are in with a good shout of Europa League football after Christmas.

I thought Celtic were excellent - they started on the front foot and didn't let Man City settle into the game.  The battle between Sterling and Tierney on that left flank seemed to define the game, with both players getting in behind plenty of times and creating a lot of chances.  Brown and Bitton hardly put a foot wrong in the middle of the park too.

The best performer on the night was Kolo Toure though, who was everywhere.  Amazing levels of energy from a 35 year-old convicted doper.

I read this in amazement that you were being positive about something for once but I'm glad to see you couldn't resist at the end.

It's going to be some fight for the left back position between Robertson and Tierney for Scotland. It's a shame for Graeme Shinnie that he's up against Tierney Robertson and Kingsley as he's a really good player himself. I actually think it's pretty shocking that Shinnie has still not been capped as he's been the best left back in the Premiership for about 2 and a half years imo.

Its worth noting Shinnies not played at left back for about two and a half years...

Celtic lose in Europe - Scottish footballs fault.

Celtic get a decent point - Scottish footballs fault.

Man City fail to win in Europe - Scottish footballs fault

According to their forum anyway...

Celtic have the advantage of being able to put everything into such games, as they know the next match is against significantly weaker opposition, whereas we now have to face a technically superior team, albeit in less partisan surrounds. It was only after around the 70-75 minute that their energy levels sapped, but they made our night difficult from the off. Not quite sure that whacking the ball long from the kick-off and surrendering possession was our cleverest of moves.

Tremendous delusion, from someone who probably supported Man United five years ago.

The five top countries can't stop there greed
with the elite teams in the champions league
Chinese and English markets cherry pick all the stars
the players traded getting gold and fancy cars
pep guardiola and messi with a dream
who can defeat this invincible team
billions is spent in transfer windows
countries like Scotland left in the shadows
with a good manager and good players in place
anything is achievable in a football race
because 11 v 11 at any time or day
fans hopes and dreams can't be taking away
shuggies principles of the game stay the same
everything said and done it's only a game.

One of the most enjoyable games i've seen in a while. Would have been a shame for Celtic to lose after putting in so much effort. City looked very dangerous at times especially near the end. Was good to see Sutton big up scottish football, richard dunne tho?! Most boring guy on the planet could they not have gotten anyone else?

I cant even begin to imagine the thought process involved in posting that!

If Dembele performs consistently at that level over the next few months, Celtic will get a few tempting bids in January.

Can he play for another club if he signs in January? Thought you could only play for two clubs within any given 12 month period, outside of loans?

I believe that the FIFA rules state that a player can't play for three clubs in the same season, rather than 12 months.

What about if the player's dad says it's okay? :whistle

You may be right. I thought it was within the same 12 month period, unless they move to a country that runs a different calendar season. Whatever the case, I think Spurs are probably wishing they had just agreed to let him go back to Fulham on loan instead of calling off their deal for him last January.
