But for now you’ll just sit happily under the monarchy, lap up Tory rule, Brexit and the House of Lords?

I don't support any of those things but Scotland becoming independent won't stop any of them from happening or existing. I want to see them abolished for the whole of the U.K., not just the part I am in.

Well they will stop it here.

And the whole of the UK don’t want them abolished ffs. How are there people like you who don’t seem to realise that. [emoji23]

Tory rule is happening because people want it to happen, Brexit is happening because people want it to happen and the monarchy will always be there because people want it to be there.

By people I mean England.

But just you let Scotland suffer mate.

You support the wrong party then, and throwing in your lot with separatist UK nationalism is probably the wrong way of seeing, for example, Brexit being "abolished". In fact, blind loyalism to the UK state and Scotland's continued region-hood of it is a massive endorsement of Brexit, given Scotland rejected the loss of EU membership.

That's a pipe dream.

Try and teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. More chance of that.

I've always been an idealist. I also don't see any guarantee that an Indy Scotland wouldn't have a monarchy, wouldn't end up with a right-wing government etc. It seems like a lot of risk with little guarantee it would lead to the sort of country I would like anyway. It also overlooks the emotional connection I have with the U.K. It's something that I felt about withdrawal from the EU but will be even more pronounced with the U.K. As it's a country we share so much with. Simply because I don't agree with the direction it is going in doesn't automatically equate with wanting to separate from it for me. There's a lot I dislike about the UK but there's plenty I'm not thrilled about with Scotland as well.

You're an idealist indeed, you want change, but you don't like risk.

Looking like Priti Patel could be in hot water over this undisclosed trip. She initially stated the foreign office were informed prior to the trip, it now transpires they weren't and the trip was already underway by the time they were informed.

She’s been given a very slight slap on the wrist.  Not in the slightest surprised.

And Johnson has risked getting a British citizen's sentence in Iran doubled after she was convicted of trying to overthrow the government, by claiming to a select committee that she was teaching people about journalism.

These people don't have the skills to run a country.

Much like Trump's idiot cheerleaders, there are still a worrying number of people who think Boris Johnson is Prime Minister material

His verbose, bumbling shtick is fine as a back bencher, or TV personality, or even Mayor of London (basically a glorified Transport commissioner and local planning officer), but he's the Foreign f*cking Secretary. At best he's making Britain even more of a laughing stock than we already are since Brexit, and at worst his incompetence is actually dangerous.

Tories are basically having a competition to see who can get away with the biggest snub to May because they know she is powerless just now

There's literally no-one in charge of the country.

In the last 24 hours we've found out that:

  • A cabinet minister arranged a series of secret meetings with senior Israeli officials and the Israeli PM without telling Downing Street or the Foreign Office. Then publicly lied about it. Twice.
  • The Foreign Secretary, through his own idiocy and incompetence, may have condemned a British citizen to an extra half a decade in an Iranian jail. This comes after he spent the last few months undermining the May through his speeches and newspaper articles about Brexit.
  • The Deputy Prime Minister is being investigated for sexual harassment and apparently used to have porn on his work laptop.

They're all still in a job.

We're all utterly f*cked.

If it wasn't so serious it would be hilarious. Tonight I've become all but convinced we've another election round the corner. This can't go on much longer, it's an absolute clusterfuck.

Still, could have been worse. If we think this is bad imagine if Ed had won.

I hope we start next year with an election.

Labour, Lib Dem’s and the SNP have probably been preparing for it since this DUP Deal. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Tories didn’t make it until 2020.

You would rather have this mess and Brexit than Ed Milliband?

I thought you were a Labour fan?
