Chris_the_rover
Stopped the play to send the player off ball was practically on the goal line at the edge of the 18 yard box he allowed the free kick to be taken 30 yards out from goal in the middle of the park????? The goal keepers theatrics gave a free kick, anybody who gets kick square in the chest hard enough to force them to roll over 4 times get up roll over another twice then go back down clearly hasn't been hurt that badly (I counted the rolls) Stranraer defender booted the ball off rovers striker and out of play, awarded a corner Rovers midfielder was studded in the knee said he wasn't touched even though you could see the mark up his leg with stud marks clearly visible
Blue1870
Let's be honest here refs are crap most weeks. Some weeks you get more decisions for your team than other weeks. If you lose a tight game you tend to moan more that's a fact. The reason rovers lost was because they missed good chances and our goalie and defence did well. A fact some rovers fans pointed out to me afterwards. The miss from close range which hit the bar came from a corner which looked like it shouldn't have been given even from 120yards away behind the opposite goal lol. Some turn in results from the blues. Bottom at Christmas to challenging for 4th. Tough game on Tuesday at peterhead. Take a draw now like earlier in season. He stopped play when he did because that was when the offence happened. He awarded free-kick 30 yards out because that was where the offence happened. If your defender hadn't used foul and abusive language you would have had a real chance of scoring from the move.

Aloysius Snuffleupagus
Word is that Fisher used foul and abusive language - a couple of words which start with the same letters as Football and Club. So... did he call him a cheat or a cnut? Regardless, and as most others above seem to accept, Mr Charleston wasn't the reason Rovers lost yesterday. It was a very poor performance and the lack of depth at striker was laid bare again. We're limping to the end of what will still be a successful season when measured against initial expectations, but one in which we actually we could have pushed on for 4th place if the cupboard wasn't so bare money-wise. Man of the match for me was Ally Love. He's an absolute grafter that laddie, shame very few others matched his 'dig' yesterday.

Always think Love shows up well - was a danger to us right till the end.
tuckersloan
Its now fair to say that Brian Reid has done what a lot of people (including myself) thought he couldn't and turned things around. Last couple of months he has got more right than wrong. Encouraging to see him giving youngsters like Turner a chance -something Aitken wouldn't have done. Also the committee got a lot stick a few months ago but hey maybe they actually were right to stand by their man after all.
Albino Rover
Well said, TS, and the same goes for Jim McInally and Peterhead. If Darren Dods keeps Brechin up and Forfar go down, this season's League One will serve as conclusive proof that boards who are patient with their gaffers reap the rewards. I agree with this. Fisher's outburst not only reduced us to ten men but also finished a promising attack which, ironically, his tackle - in which he was hurt - set up.
