Pretty much expected set of fixtures for us but the last two could have been better. Away to Ross County on a Wednesday night then at Parkhead on the Sunday.

Rangers are playing neither of those teams in the league this season m8.

If every game on the last day's a dead rubber (which they will be), will they just pick a random game to shove on the TV?

Also, why are we at United on a Sunday? Seems a bit bizarre.

It would be pretty hard to decide the entire set of fixtures and get agreement from the clubs and the police in the space of a few hours.

When we were in the SPL (no jokes about how long ago that was) after match 33 the fixtures were out that evening.

That's easy enough to do if the top and bottom six are already decided ahead of Matchday 33, or at a push if there are only two possible outcomes (like when you lost to Aberdeen in the final pre-split game).

However, this year there were six teams in contention for three spots going into the last day.  I'd guess there would have been something like 15 different possible combinations of clubs for the top six and bottom six.  Your plan would basically require someone to have worked out fixtures for every single one of those possible outcomes in advance, and received clearance for each and every one of them.  That is not practical and was never going to happen.

The fact that Celtic & Rangers were the only two clubs to be guaranteed not to have to travel to each other's grounds more than twice a season as everyone else did was what made a mockery of the split and the top league. No doubt it will be back to that way next season.

Add in the fact they are not allowed to play each other on the opening day makes our whole fixture list a farce.

Fair play.

Whilst there is still a mathematical possibility of Aberdeen winning the title wouldn't it have made sense to put Aberdeen against Celtic as the final game of the season? It's looking unlikely but it's still possible, that would maximise potential drama and excitement.

What evidence is there to suggest maximising drama and excitement is any way a priority?

I'm just a bit pissed off at the derby game, I have 5 exams on Monday and Tuesday that week, you would think that the derby would be 1215 on a Saturday, but obviously not.

I had to read it about 5 times but a Monday for a Dundee derby is terrible.

Is that to kill any kind of drunken behaviour?

Any idea why no game this weekend? Cause of the cups or due to being short notice for folk travelling?

Can't be the 1st.

2 championship teams playing at Hampden and 3 Championship fixtures on Saturday.

Must be your 2nd point.
