Savage Henry
That's yer Darren O'Dea offski as had been rumoured to be the case ages ago. Curious to see who his replacement is now.Why won’t they tell us which lucky team won the Darren O’Dea sweepstakes?
steelmen
Why won’t they tell us which lucky team won the Darren O’Dea sweepstakes?Sure it was mentioned a few weeks back that it was Celtic he was off to.

Archie McSquackle
Or going back a bit further ...... Andy Roddie. Good times. Roddie was at least supposed to be a winger. I don't think the management team could work out the best position to play Kerr until they eventually realised it was better not to play him at all.

To be fair, at least Kerr got fucking wired in to Moshni during the post-playoff entertainment - Andy Roddie wore gloves.

It sounds to me like he's handed in/worked his notice or he's stayed on in the position until we've recruited his replacement. Which is fair enough. He's been offered the same role with (presumably) better pay and facilities at another employer. We've already appointed his successor according to the PR that went out earlier so other than a bit of inconvenience I doubt there's any issue and it'd be wildly optimistic to expect a fee or some sort of compensation. Quote "His successor has been appointed and will be announced shortly." Given Craigan left in December, McManus in January and O'Dea after a couple of months it'll be interesting to see who's got the job. Busta Nut
Both O'Dea and Celtic asked his destinantion not to be named in Motherwell's announcement

Archie McSquackle
That could go wrong as well but at least Celtic would have to pay money to bring him in.

dezz
I see there’s a bit of chat on BBC Gossip this morning that Steve Clarke has been down watching Chris Cadden as a potential solution to Scotland’s right back issue. Without having seen/heard anything about his performances at Oxford, I have a feeling he is not the solution.
AndyRoss
Feel this has escalated somewhat from about two months ago when I believed he’d be better served going out on loan to Alloa...
capt_oats
Carson, Mugabi, Maguire, Sloth, Mazinga, Ilic and Semple all starting for the reserves. Looks like Dean Cornelius at right back as well.
Swello
On paper that must be the strongest reserve side we've played
crazylegsjoe
It actually came up on my LinkedIn feed today that Elliott Frear had posted a highlights video up there, looking for a club either at home or abroad. Although I don't feel we've suffered at all for losing him, I think he'd have Ilic's seat on the bench at best, it's still sad to see a guy who was a decent servant for us struggling for a club. Trials at Dundee United and Oxford didn't work out by the looks of things. I wonder if there ever was any danger of us re-signing him when he turned up at that Gretna game.
Swello
I'm surprised that no-one has taken a punt on him as he isn't that bad a player IMO - but it does remind you that sometimes the "short career" cliche is true and it's nothing to do with age.
capt_oats
I thought at least one of the more reliable ITK-ers had the Frear re-signing as having been on until something changed. I'm not 100% on my timeline but IIRC the Oxford trial happened after the Gretna friendly and the whole speculation he was taking the offer? It'd be bold to patch a deal on the table in favour for a trial elsewhere but equally we brought him up here from Forest Green Rovers who are from that neck of the woods so it wouldn't be a massive surprise if his preference would have been to go back down south rather than stick around up here. He trial at Oxford was a couple of weeks and he played in a few friendlies (scored in one IIRC), I've not been paying particular attention but from the sound of things it seems United kept him hanging for a while. Tbh, I don't really blame him for not fancying a new deal with us. 29 appearances last season, 20 of them off the bench and only 4 of his starts were in the league. It hardly screams "we see you as a key member of the squad" and I'm fairly sure our offer would have reflected that. Like @Swello I'm a bit surprised no one's picked him up, Bowman and Fisher seem to be doing pretty well in League 2 with Exeter. I'd have thought he'd have been a viable option for teams at that level even more so if he's willing to drop down to the Championship up here (I suppose it's now the point in the season where he can't afford to be picky). dezz
Nice to see that Casper Sloth does actually exist as he scores against Accies reserves this afternoon. In other news, I spotted this on Twitter (Agent Scotland - I know, I know!) but it makes for some pretty positive reading, assuming it is actually correct. Can only assume we’ll jump to 2+ ppg when Turnbull is back fit. Passports out.
Ron Aldo
Regarding Elliot Frear, I work with a Dundee United fan and he'd heard that Frear failed a medical with them.
