Mental how Sean Goss is the best midfielder in the world, eh.

(I didn't go to the game and have had many, many glasses of wine.)

I'm beginning to wonder if a lot of players I've given stick to over the years if played correctly and not given wild instructions are actually decent when used to their strengths by a manager who seems to know what he's doing.

I'd have driven Goss to the airport before Christmas.

Ketts has a 71% win record .... some boi

So what is rumoured to have happened on the training ground with Crankshaw?

From what I have heard it was more than the fans who were surprised when he returned to his club for training because no one at Motherwell knew. So I believe SK terminated his loan.

Max Johnston scored yesterday, set one up and played well - at this very moment, his agent is picking this week's list of clubs. I'm going to guess a better Italian club than last time, a bottom 3 EPL club and a wildcard from Belgium.

I really like the way Kettlewell has let him off the leash to be fair.

Last time I mind us playing with wing backs was under Robinson and that always felt quite rigid. Where as Furlong and Johnston in particular seems to have license to bomb forward at will under Kettlewell.

Yesterday Johnston was clean through on goal inside 10 mins. At Van Veen’s opener Furlong sets it up and Johnston also up in the 6 yard box to support. The third goal Spittal’s shot is saved and Johnston’s the first to arrive for the rebound. The boy spends more time in the opposition box than some of the forwards we’ve had over the years.

I always worry with a back 5 it can become quite negative if you don’t have an out ball. However the pace and energy the two of the them provide down the flanks makes a massive difference. It can turn defence into attack in the blink of an eye cause as soon as we win the ball back, the pair of them are on their bikes flying forward- see the first goal yesterday.

It’ll be a shame to see him leave but like you say, I imagine his agent is feeding Fabrizio the latest set of clubs ‘interested’ as we speak.

Combining the last two posts, it will be interesting to see what approach Kettlewell takes next season.

We've all heard the KVV to China rumours and it wouldn't surprise me to see that deal go ahead in the summer and if they're going to pay a 32 year old silly money you couldn't begrudge him it.

Kettlewell said himself it wasn't a case of the 3-5-2 formation being favoured - rather it suited the squad he inherited. With the three right backs' contracts expiring and Furlong's loan ending, that's a lot of work to get two of the crucial positions in the formation sorted. Furlong obviously won't get near the Brighton team, but it wouldn't surprise you if he uses his loan at Motherwell to get another club in England, like Penney did.

The choice of 3-5-2 also probably hinged on Van Veen being able to flourish with a partner and that Kettlewell inherited four centre forwards. It'll be interesting to see if he goes, how that affects things. Particularly as Aitchison, Mandron and Obika expire at the end of the season too.

Need to enjoy Van Veen while we can.

No way a 22+ goal a season striker for Motherwell isn’t going attract attention.

Even if all this China stuff is bollocks - there is no chance he'll be with us next season.

He's been a lower league jobber almost all of his career (even if he's a pretty talented one) and if he gets the chance to get a good move to set him up on the back of a 20 goal season, then fair play to him.

If the China thing is real and he's away imminently - then it will be interesting for the rest of the season to see how much is the system and how much it's KVV doing stuff that others in the squad can't.

I think it’s fair to say we couldn’t see Obika, Mandron or maybe Aitchison doing what KVV did for the first goal yesterday.

Totally different style of players.
