I’d like to think someone at the club will have a word with him. I wonder if he's the first player to have been booked for kicking the pitch.
Cedrics Mighty Well Army Posted Saturday at 13:44 Share Posted Saturday at 13:44 Just been to the rub-a-dub for a curer or six. "You left your curry in here last night" I'm told. (a) I don't remember being in the pub. (b) I don't remember buying a curry. Only by supporting Motherwell can those special nights cause such liquid amnesia.

Losing it like that was a sickener, up there with the worst I’ve felt at after a game. We were for about the first 30-35 minutes, we should have been home and dry. For some reason they didn't turn up and we let them off the hook big time.

Handsome_Devil Posted Saturday at 13:55 Share Posted Saturday at 13:55 On the subject of semi finals and the resilience aspect mentioned by some, it's worth noting that our semi finals are very much like buses - long spells without then two or three come at once. They tend to cluster together reached by what you would loosely call the same team or era, and as far as I can tell (thinking whole plodding laps of a sponsored run this morning!), this pattern basically holds true for the entire post-war era. The one exception I can think of, ironically enough, is 91. So while I think we'll be onto plums shortly in this tournament, if we can keep a bit of the core there is reason for hope in the Scottish and the next couple of years.

I have had a permanent smile on my face since Kelly moved on and Ox showed why he should have been given an opportunity last season. Dropping Kelly would have meant the end of his Scotland career and since we benefited financially from that not happening I guess it is self explanatory. I have yet to see a replay of his save before Moult scored but that had possibly as much impact as anything in our win. Great home (and away) support. Pleasing to see the that the efforts of the Well Society volunteers paid off. You could argue that was possibly 1000 home supporters up on what it might have been. That is a few extra £’s in the club coffers. Well done to them . Been walking around all day with a big grin. Such an enjoyable evening.
rowsdower Posted Saturday at 14:36 Share Posted Saturday at 14:36 Nice to see in the Instagram angle of Robinsons goal that a Utd fan put all tribal differences aside and offered our player some much needed hydration during his celebration. That kind of stuff gets ignored by the folk who only want to talk our game down.

Loving seeing a keeper come and pluck a ball out the air around the penalty spot, think he should grow a dodgy 'tache and grow his hair out a bit for full effect.
YassinMoutaouakil Posted Saturday at 16:02 Share Posted Saturday at 16:02 We're obviously winning the lot but just in case... Ross County and St Johnstone both dropping points probably desirable for us.
rowsdower Posted Saturday at 16:07 Share Posted Saturday at 16:07 Hearts probably think they're above taking Kettlewell from us, but wouldn't be surprised to see Robinson take the roadshow to tynecastle.
superwellfan Posted Saturday at 16:12 Share Posted Saturday at 16:12 Had a couple of cans this afternoon... But what a joy that was to witness last night surrounded by family. Utterly boring shite for 45 minutes until Robinson's strike. Boring shite until Moult scored anaw... But then, a cup quarter final win in injury time, with 6k Motherwell fans making a noise not witnessed in Fir Park since the playoff. Appreciating these ocassions for all that they're worth with every passing year. Bring on The Spartans.

I was saying on the St M v Hearts thread that the Jambos should go for Stephen Robinson. The guy has been successful with two top flight sides with less resources. That plus anything that weakens St Mirren is very welcome

Feels like ages since we've had that. I know it's still early days to make a full judgement but Stama, Moses, Sparrow and Kaleta absolutely played their part last night and we've still got players to come back from injury who you'd expect to be in and around the starting 11. Happy days. I know he was only briefly on the park but Ap Stam certainly looked the part like. The moment he came on the united centre halfs had something to deal with. Not a criticism of Robinson, he battled well but physically is just smaller. You could see the big man immediately make it a contest and honestly I think he's what we've missed there massively.

18May1991 Posted Saturday at 17:14 Share Posted Saturday at 17:14 Just as Lennon was about to take the penalty, the commentator asked: “Sam Nicholson, how’s your nerves?” Forgot about him. Our squad’s not bad, is it?

Our squad’s not bad, is it? I mean, mileage will vary in terms of opinions on quality but if nothing else we have numbers. I was thinking about that off the back of the news about Vale's injury and realising that in terms of forwards on top of those who started last night we had Ebiye, Stamatelopolous, Wells and Tavares on the bench with Watt ineligible, Stuparević somewhere in the ether and Ferrie still kicking about. It's a deep bench once everyone is fit. Edited Saturday at 17:28 by capt_oats
