dogmc
Is there not a health n safety issue about putting a boxing novice in the ring with mayweather? Surely any board licencing this is leaving itself wide open to litigation?
pittsburgh phil
Is there not a health n safety issue about putting a boxing novice in the ring with mayweather? Surely any board licencing this is leaving itself wide open to litigation? McGregor has a boxing licence though and it's obvs gonna be a non title fight. The money generated means the governing bodies will be creaming themselves over a hefty sanctioning fee...

Didn't realise he had a licence....is it likely to a balls out actual fight or something umm 'structured' like wwe? Can't see how a full blown fight doesn't carry bigger than normal risk of injury.
MONKMAN
Floyd has come out and said its a load of bollocks.
pittsburgh phil
Mayweather wants to keep his name in the headlines, especially now he's retired and moving into promoting. He might be many things but he's no fool. Can't see him risking tarnishing his legacy, too little to gain from winning and too much to lose from, well, losing. He does love the US dollar though but would surely be wanting a guarantee of absolutely crazy money ie around $100 million.
Fraser Fyvie
He'd easily make $100m from the fight, which would be one of his easiest wins ever and get him to 50-0. It's a no brainer to take the fight if it can get made.
NorthernJambo
Had a conversation with my mate, more of a UFC than boxing fan, he thought McGregor would have a chance with Floyd being old and out of the game for a bit. McGregor has a punchers chance, at best, in the unlikely event he even managed to lay a glove of Mayweather.
MONKMAN
How many guys have got in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, and barely put a glove on him. Only such thing as a punchers chance, if you can actually hit the guy. It would be an exhibition from him. pittsburgh phil
If it did happen I'd like to see a huge razzmatazz affair, with a ring entrance from Mayweather like Apollo Creed's in Rocky IV, possibly with Drake or Kanye West replacing James Brown.
Oleksandr
Your likes of Frankie Gavin would school Mcgregor I've no doubt about that, to suggest he'd have a chance against one of the greatest of all time is so uber casual it's unreal.
Oleksandr
Josh Taylor fighting back in Edinburgh 24th of March on channel 5, against Warren Joubert. At least Ryan was a name, charging 40 quid to see this when it's on free TV is a bit steep
Shandon Par
Big difference between being able to win a brawl and being able to even get close to a boxer like Mayweather. From bitter experience, old age can suddenly catch up with you but if Mayweather took it even slightly seriously there's no contest. £40 does seem harsh for the Taylor show, though he does look class. Very precise and clinical.
dundeefc1783
The videos of McGregor sparring show that this is an all time legend against a regional level fighter. Mayweather finishes it whenever he chooses.

Stick to the mma.

I would rarely pay to watch a professional al boxing show here.
Boostin' Kev
I won't be handing over £40 for this and it's a 10 min taxi journey from my home. Edited February 15, 2017 by Kool Keith

At least in the octagon Mayeather would have a chance of catching him and knocking him clean out whereas in a boxing ring Mcgregor has precisely zero chance.

You're correct however in that a straight boxing match he'll get his face jabbed off.

He wouldn't. McGregor is by no means a great or even good wrestler in terms of elite level MMA, but he'd have Mayweather on the deck, stretched and tapped out within around 47 seconds if he wanted.I'm refusing to pay for Haye v Bellew because it's a joke fight, if this happens it deserves even more contempt.
Boostin' Kev
Saw Eddie was attempting to lend the Bellew - Haye fight credibility the other day saying that if Bellew wins he'd be in line for a Joshua fight, he really has no shame whatsoever.
