Yeah, a manager admitting he made a mistake is refreshing after the last two seasons. Assuming we get Sprangler in, what other business, if any, to folk expect over the next 2 days? I'd hope for another winger, ideally a permanent one, and perhaps a striker if Clark isn't anywhere close. Light at centre half too particularly if McGowan leaves but appreciate the squad will have to be smaller this season.
Costanza
Agree @nelsjfc, we could do with proper quality in those three areas. Unlikely we will get it at this stage but a properly decent striker that can get us up the pitch would make a huge difference. Might be Kane does that but how reliable is he going to be after so long out? Another pacey winger would be ideal and definitely think we are still short at centre half, there are concerns over all three of them for different reasons, McClelland obviously a young guy that seems fine (Ross County away blip aside) but relying on Gordon & Considine for the whole season doesn't seem great.
Kyle
Sprangler deal agreed, just waiting on his work permit and SFA approval. Maclean also saying he's hoping for a busy day on Friday with 'a few irons in the fire' and that he's told 3 players they can go. Be interesting to see what comes of it all
SJFCtheTeamForMe
McGowan, Clark and Booth will be the three (I think).

SJFCtheTeamForMe
"The Exceptions Panel can grant a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) to those players who are short of meeting the criteria. The GBE operates on a points-based system which considers: international appearances, quality of the selling club and club appearances." Not claiming to know much about this but... International appearances = 0 Quality of selling club. Not sure if that applies in this circumstance but they're now a third tier Austrian club and struggling second tier when he played there. Club appearances, not many recently and when I looked before and seemed to think he wasn't a regular starter when in the top flight?
Kyle
They're surely confident he'll be granted the exemption, why else would they bring him over for a trial and go through all of this? Be a huge waste of time for everyone including Sprangler himself who's just spent months without a club
RandomGuy.
Wonder if theyll priorities looking at permits for under contract players, due to the deadline, and free agents like Sprangler will end up right down the queue.

Steve McQueen
At some point this season we're going to have a team of entirely new signings? Probably in a month when Phillips gets suspended Edited August 31, 2023 by Steve McQueen

Meaningless as we'll end up with almost 100% of his salary. Hopefully we get to see Kane play for Saints again if he's not one of them, if he's fit before his deal ends.

SJFCtheTeamForMe
I imagine it'll depend on how much of their wage share we end up having to carry for the remainder of their deals. If we were them we wouldn't be walking away without having this years salary honoured fully! Loans for all 3? Can see there being interest at full time level still for McGowan. Crawford might get a Airdrie or Cove type full time offer? Not sure clubs will be queuing up to pay much of Booth's wage after his injuries. PSJ.84
Be interesting to see what level Booth and Crawford actually end up at, if anybody actually takes a punt on them. Top end League One maybe the best?
