Sad the way football has gone, in terms of agent power (often misadvising clients for their own personal financial gain) on top of the Bosman ruling years back. Even during Bosman, Saints had an identity of players and club showing mutual loyalty thus building a consitent and successful team. Wonder if Levein will decide to play Clark and Kirk for the next month to dampen interest... Nat King Goals Posted August 12 Share Posted August 12 If release clauses are happening most of the time, wonder how that works in terms of selling clubs being able to negotiate future sell-on % etc or is that opportunity removed with the buying club having met the sole obligation of paying the release clause amount? With Mitov's release clause being minimal and potentially similar for other key players, it would just be like the thing that MacPherson valued himself for release clause of £10 million!
