Guest DAVIDB69
Do think it's all about the first four games for Strachan coming up six points bare minimum but do think we might be out of it after we play England . If so he has to go, probably we have is that our team of 30 somethings have gone on too far and there is little or enough coming through
Guest DAVIDB69
If you look at every Premiership club, and look at the U24s who've played in, or around, 20 or more games, it looks like this... Aberdeen - 4 (Ward, Shinnie, Jack, McLean) Celtic - 8 (Simunovic, Sviatchenko, Tierney, Biton, Armstrong, Rogic, Forrest, McGregor) Dundee - 5 (Bain, Holt, Ross, Low, Wighton) Dundee United - 7 (Souttar, Durnan, Donaldson, Fraser, Spittal, Dow, Murray) Hamilton - 7 (Gordon, Devlin, Crawford, Gillespie, Docherty, Morris, Brophy) Hearts - 8 (Souttar, Paterson, Ozturk, McGhee, Walker, Nicholson, King, Reilly) Inverness - 7 (Meekings, Wedderburn, Devine, Christie, Polworth, Horner, Storey) Kilmarnock - 7 (O'Hara, McHattie, Ashcroft, Findlay, Slater, McKenzie, Kiltie) Motherwell - 9 (Ripley, Chalmers, Laing, Kennedy, Hall, Thomas, Grimshaw, Cadden, Moult) Partick Thistle - 3 (Lindsay, Bannigan, Edwards) Ross County - 5 (Fraser, Reckord, Irvine, McShane, Schalk) St Johnstone - 3 (Fisher, Shaughnessy, Kane) And thats ignoring the swathes of 25 year olds around. Yes but the selection policy means majority of eligible players won't be picked. We are now at mid table championship picks who may rarely play for their clubs

At times during our relegation season we had 6 players starting games that came through our youth system. Mainly because of the dross Tommy Craig signed. Guest DAVIDB69
The tartan army hokey cokey Problem is we have neglected young players for so long so we have next to no one in the 23-26 age group . This means we are having to try and cap some youngsters here and there who are probably not ready for international football

Falcor Roar
You make Brian McClair sound far more professional than he is. Findings? He hasn't done the slightest bit of work since he got here. Plenty of empty rhetoric - praising the Largs set up, etc - but I've never seen anyone so patently out of their depth as him. I haven't heard any criticism about him yet. What makes you think he's not done any work?
Scary Bear
His point is about folk stopping supporting Scotland because we're shite. Aye, but 'glory hunting'? Is it possible to support Scotland and be a Glory Hunter? There's never been any glory. We're so shite now that we get all misty eyed about qualifying and then getting humped out after 3 games. There was a brief spell when McLeish was in charge where there was a bit of excitement but that was just another glorious failure. The last 8 years have just been awful. Just because there's been no glory doesn't mean you can't hunt it. Just makes you a bit shite at it.
TheScarf
That statements about five years out of date. Its fairly obvious almost every club is now moving towards youth. We've spent almost as much on our youth set up as the first team lately, have two under 23s we brought through now starting for us. While the likes of County, Thistle and Motherwell are all making massive strides towards it as well. Ive said it before and ill say it again, International football for smaller nations is cyclical, we'll always have decades of moving between being shite, average and brilliant. Tbf, all County's youngsters get released at 19 and end up at Brora Rangers or Elgin City.

The best example of 'glory hunting' Scotland fans are the ones who just showed up for that Italy game, wrecked pubs in Glasgow when we got beat and fucked off back under their rocks. Basically the Old Firm fans who normally 'support' NI,SI and England.

troopio
My biggest disappointments from Saturday, didn't bother watching or follow the game, is that the Management team haven't quit or been sacked yet. Until we get rid of Strachan and his terrible selection policies we have no chance of even coming near to getting into a play off scenario. No doubt I will be asked who can replace him with well IMO we need to, as some have suggested, look outwith the UK in terms of their Nationality and get someone in who wont just be a Glasgow Media Mafia Darling or a cosy ex Scotland International who the said Glaswegian Media Mafia will big up for the position.........I truly believe we need to get someone younger in to help improve us long term, someone with fresher ideas but at least for 1 campaign I do also think the job needs someone with balls who will stand up to the suits in the SFA and the said Media as well. I would say someone like Guus Hiddink would be perfect, he wouldn't be cheap and he is getting on abit but he has a well known belief in trying to take through younger players and doesn't make excuses to try and look good for the Media, he tells it how it is.
