anybody who was at the game
was the protest loud and vociferous as sadly BT Sport must have turned down the sound

It was a fucking minter. There were around two dozen folk with yellow and black scarves (why yellow and black??) who started chanting. They were booed down by the majority of united fans. They didn't manage to last precisely 2 minutes and there was no roaring crescendo. Them embarrassed themselves and they embarrassed United.

The flag wasn't even unfurled properly

All I heard was a pitiful 'uuuuuuunited we love you' and that was it.

That wasn't the 'protest', that was a response to their specific "Thompson out' chant. If you heard the first song it meant that the protest song was drowned out, and rightly so.

Fair enough.  I'm a wee bit sore.
I can't imagine anyone coming down from the top league next season that's anywhere near Hibs' level.  Next season is going to be much more competitive with no runaway winner. Unless Sevco go into admin/liquidation, of course.

If Hamilton come down. They will walk that diddy league. There built for it .

Whilst ICT and Hamilton are both financially stable clubs, they are both already working off small budgets.  Dropping down would mean a further cut and I dont think either of them would skoosh the league.

For the past 3 years, the championship has had at least 2 clubs in it operating off the equivalent of a top 6 SPFL budget - this wont be the case next year (likely we'll have the biggest budget but even that will be substantially cut from this year) and the league will probably be even tighter top to bottom.

We will be down next season, 100% guaranteed. I think we will finish third and get papped out the playoffs at the first hurdle.

I don't know if I want Mckinnon here or not. His signings have mostly been shit, the football is shit, the tactics are shit and his use of substitutions, well, shit.

He inherited a mess but he's had two transfer windows and he's been backed reasonably well for what return? This shit?

Ironically, the team was doing OK till the sending off but everyone and their dog seen the red card for that tit coming.

This is the current set of principles for 'Fans United', posted online earlier -

Fans United Core Aims & Principles

1 We are a collective of Dundee United fans who care deeply about the club.

2 We have quietly watched on as a series of financial and football related decisions have been taken which seem to have done nothing but weaken the club's status.

3 We have seen a very rapid decline going from consistent top 6 / European football to now 3rd in the Championship

4 We and others have asked for transparency from the Board in terms of what plans are in place to reverse the recent decline. To date we have not had any response.

5 We want to make it known that in the absence of a clear plan to address our current decline we think a change of direction is needed .

6 We hope that by publicising the fact that a core group of fans would like to make change happen, we can help encourage new investment in the club.

7 We don't have all the answers at present. Change may take many forms, for example greater fan ownership / involvement or an individual taking over from the current board. Our simple aim is to facilitate positive change.

8 What we do want to make clear is that we cannot just sit back and accept recent financial and football performance from the club.

9 We welcome all like minded individuals to join Fans United and seek the improvements we all want!

None of these items are aims or principles. They are a series of statements - background and opinion I suppose?

It strikes me that they don't really know what they are doing and, if so, won't achieve anything. If they actually thought properly about what they really want to achieve, they might get somewhere. At the moment it looks like a case of wanting something different but having no idea what that is.

Last time this happened there was a viable alternative. What are the alternatives now? If there is a viable option I'm sure every arab would want it but it just looks like a bunch of angry people stamping their feet.

Seriously beginning to lose faith in McKinnon after last night.
Not really any midfield to speak of (not seen many worse performances than Fraser's last night) let alone width or pace, and The fact that our only plan b is to chuck Durnan up front tells you all u need to know about our strikers.
Long ball after long ball to no effect and nothing to come off the bench.
Doesn't matter a jot though because we simply can afford to get rid. The effect of last season will be felt for a while to come yet, during which time we'll have to develop and sell as many youngsters as possible. Surely guys like coote, smith and robson can't be any worse- I'd bung them in now with the intention of making them the main men next season, hoping two lots of dross come down from the league above.

HI, small note just to remind you that you're actually fourth not third. Yes, fourth in the championship.

The summer window when Ayr signed Harkins, QOS signed Dobbie and Utd signed Andreu. Fans all wanking themselves into a frenzy :lol::lol:

How did that work out?

Other than the massive wage thieves at these 3 of course.

Dobbie has scored quite a few goals this season, he's been a good signing.
