Just because a player gets a touch on the ball doesn't make it automatically not a foul. You said, "If he doesn't bring Drinkwater down, he's putting it in the net." You can take a player down without fouling him. Koscielny made a great challenge to divert the direction of the ball, and Drinkwater going down doesn't matter.
