Other than punting Milik into the sea, Poland will be happy with their performance and almost certain qualification. Germany are dire at the moment and when switching Julien Draxler for Mario Gomez is your game-changer, it's clear that the problem lies with a lack of quality in attacking positions. With the defence never entirely convincing I can't see them challenging to win the tournament.

What does "inventor of the sweeper-keeper" Neuer do that Grobbelaar didn't?

Aside from not making as many horrific mistakes and not allegedly throwing games, of course.

Edit: Neuer probably hasn't shot any 'kaffirs' in Rhodesia either, thinking about it.

Dont think Sam Matterface is worth listening too, tbh.

Is this something he goes on about?

Lothar Mattheus being smug about Northern Ireland not being good enough to beat Germany...how did it go against their neighbours, Lothar?

I agree with Bilic. Germany need to be more direct and play with a quicker tempo. They can't let defenses sit in and get comfortable. Need to move the ball forward and quickly.

Poland should've won that. Quite surprising seeing Germany come off second best and being out fought.

Lewandowski hasn't done enough for Poland so far - seems to be falling into the trap of expecting everything on a plate for him.

Maybe, just maybe, this generation of footballers just aren't very good.

It's a generation of possession-keeping midfielders and 'Number 10's'. Defenders who can actually defend and strikers who score goals seems to be an optional extra. It's all about 'controlling the game'. Germany, Spain and France all have a similar issue in that they have poor strikers yet a ridiculous amount of talent in midfield/attacking midfield. It's amazing that between those 3 countries who have so many amazing players the best striker they can produce between them is Alvaro Morata, it definitely seems like the 'art of striking' is being lost at youth level as clubs are looking at developing more all round players. You see the same at the other end of the park too, with the art of defending being lost due to the obsession with having all round, ball playing centre backs. John Stones is the epitome of this change, great on the ball but doesn't actually know how to defend.
