MarkoRaj
It's incredible that Corbyn is happy to do this to his own party. I feel like this should be the epitaph on Labour's gravestone. The party's been a shambles for about a decade but it's all Corbyn 's fault

Yeah because binning the leader has worked all other times. BerwickMad
Yeah because binning the leader has worked all other times. BerwickMad
And it works wonders. So long as predominantly middle class, university graduate, southern membership back him so that they can feel good I suppose. Real consolation to the people turning away from the party in their swathes in the heartlands. Jeremy can continue to tell them what's best for them well into his 80s as the Tories ruin what's left of their lives.

BerwickMad
Fair point. Where has Corbyn failed? Scotland, parliament, the council elections, the EU election, all signs of failure and things going in the wrong direction.

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but Labour lost Scotland long before Corbyn. It had nothing to do with them being too left wing either. Labour are actually doing better than expected in the council elections, so i'm not sure what you're slavering about there. The EU election wasn't Corbyn's to win. He said what he felt about the EU and left people to make up their own minds.

jakedee
No. I mean not coming out the day after Brexit and asking for Article 50 to be invoked immediately. Or hiring and firing someone with cancer. Or the shambles talked about by Lilian Greenwood. The things that, whatever his politics, show that he's not up to the task. The question of invoking article 50 "now" was explained as meaning, now it has to be invoked, not necessarily immediately. It appears that unfortunate people with cancer can't be fired ? Even if they're incompetent. If instead of the pre planned assassination of his leadership the plp got behind what is a democratically elected leader, maybe instead of firefighting he could maybe concentrate on "leading". BerwickMad
These kinds of failings, mishaps and blunders are the kinds of things all politicians are scrutinised and criticised for. I find it utterly pathetic that simply because people believe in his overall vision of Britain, they're happy to see them swept under the carpet. A 'nothing to see here' attitude. Granny Danger
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37009871 The party will appeal the decision but I doubt if they will be successful.

jmothecat
Corbyn knows that he is destroying the party and should step down in the interest of unity. His refusal to do so is despicable. As soon as he lost that no confidence vote he should have done the decent thing.
