Nice ground. Clearly not content with just being in the bundesliga

It was built for WC2006 as the token ex-East German venue.

It was previously used by the established Leipzig clubs. Red Bull Leipzig itself is only 7yrs old. Been bankrolled up the levels - 4 promotions in 7 seasons. Crowds gone from 2,000 to 29,000.

Excellent to see another young Scottish player going abroad rather than staying in the comfort zone of the UK. For all that they throw a fair bit of money about that's their second most expensive transfer this summer, they aren't putting that kind of money down for a player who'll be gradually eased in to the side. He'll be playing regularly and it's a great move for him.

Deliberate inference, presumably.

Reverse of TNS situation?

As BDV said, due to naming rules in Germany, they can't be called 'Red Bull', so named them RasenBallsport, keeping the RB prominent. A clever move, as most people think they're called Red Bull Leipzig

Absolutely this. It's got to be a good thing for a young lad to go and experience a different style of football and it can only be a good thing for the national team.

What most people overlook is that the 'RB' in their name doesn't actually stand for 'Red Bull', it's 'RasenBallsport'.

Yes only because German clubs aren't allowed to carry the name of a sponsor. Smartarse fail

Is there not a couple of German clubs that were named after companies?

You get the feeling they declined Red Bulls attempts at naming them Red Bull Leipzig out of spite more than anything,

It's a pretty big city without a major football club since Lokomotiv have gone bankrupt several times and reside far down the system.  No reason why they can't establish themselves in the Bundesliga, provided they are being run correctly and its not too much, too young.
