An extreme free marketeer who would see children starving in the street and argue that it was a justifiable and necessary adjunct to securing a genuinely efficient free market. Quote He argues UK businesses and consumers would benefit from lower priced imported goods and the effects of increased competition, which would force firms to raise their productivity. Happiness will verily blossom across the land!

An extreme free marketeer who would see children starving in the street and argue that it was a justifiable and necessary adjunct to securing a genuinely efficient free market. He certainly has form.He was an adviser to the Grantham Witch in the early 80s who argued that stopping subsidies for coal mining dead would lead to an entrepreneurial boom as former miners and their communities would adapt quickly. This didn't pan out quite as planned and most of the former mining areas are poverty stricken hellholes to this day.The Beeb should be ashamed for reporting this as if it was even partly credible. This is nothing but delusional fantasy.
btb
Looks like TM is preparing the way to let Europe retain the ultimate court of arbitration after Brexit in some form. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/aug/22/theresa-may-u-turn-brexit-european-court-justice Chances of the UK getting a deal that will satisfy the Leave Camp are looking less likely by the week. WhiteRoseKillie
Chances of this lot getting any kind of deal which will satisfy anyone are on a par with Killie finishing top six this season. I've had a gradually growing suspicion for a couple of months now that we're not actually, really going to leave - how it will play out is subject to a lot of factors, including how pissed off the Europeans get with Davis' arrogance, May's incompetence, and Johnson's sheer offensiveness. I get the feeling that Parliament is going to be unmissable viewing when they're all back. Many whispers of revolt on the Government benches: maybe even buying votes at half-a-Neymar a time won't save them from another 2017 election.

I find stuff like this actually worse than all the lies to be honest. I accept that politicians on all sides will lie to get what they want. There were plenty of people here making the argument that the pro-indy side in 2014 should have lied more as the ultimate goal was worth it. Stuff like this, EURATOM, ECJ/ECHR confusion demonstrates that the Leave campaigners fundamentally had no understanding of what they were asking for and didn't bother to try and find out.

Pro-indy "inaccuracies" would have been forensically examined, analysed, discussed and rebutted a million times over in the media, Leave lies were left unchallenged.
