Lib Dems have fucked it. Going for a "people's vote" and revoking at the same time means they don't give a f**k what the "people" think and they're playing lip service to the worst branding of a political campaign in history.

They're a pointless waste of space who will probably jump straight back into bed with the Tories if they get the chance after the election.

Principles? What Principles?

The Tories private polling is apparently showing that they may struggle to get a majority - losing seats in London, Scotland and the South of England and not balanced by gains in the North of England.

The longer there is to a general election - especially if the man child carries on the way he is - the more likely that his bullshit will be seen for what it is.

Google is your friend, Harry.

In January this year Bercow allowed Dominic Grieve to table an amendment to a government procedural motion - a type of motion, as Theresa May protested, which is not normally amendable. Commons clerks had advised the Speaker on that point. Bercow, however, decided that he would innovate. 'I am not in the business of invoking precedent, nor am I under any obligation to do so.' he said. 'If I were guided only by precedent, nothing would ever change'. The amendment - requiring the government to come to the commons within 3 days and explain how it intended to proceed - was duly passed by the Commons.

That doesn't mean they (government procedural motions) are not ever amendable. Although I take your general point re Bercow making it up as he goes along. However, what's to stop the government amending the amendment? (Apart from the small matter of having no majority.)
